WWE UK Stars No Longer Allowed to Work with Top UK Indie Promotion

Revolution Pro Wrestling, one of the top independent promotions operating in the UK, has officially confirmed that wrestlers signed to contracts with WWE will no longer be appearing at their shows. They released the following statement on Twitter Friday afternoon.

“Sadly those in the tournament and those who have also signed but aren’t in the tournament will no longer be appearing for us.”

As noted, WWE has been very aggressive of late in signing up as many top UK talents as they can. With that, the amount of independent promotions allowed to book said talents has been rapidly shrinking, although it’s unknown when the mandate grew to include Rev Pro. They were able to book Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate and Trent Seven for an event in February, and Travis Banks just worked their “Epic Encounter” event on 5/11.

For those unfamiliar, Revolution Pro is well known for being the “super indie” of the UK, as they stack their cards with major names from all around the world, frequently putting on “dream matches” you couldn’t otherwise see. They work closely with New Japan Pro Wrestling leading to recent matches like Keith Lee vs. Tomohiro Ishii, and Minoru Suzuki vs. Jeff Cobb.

Sadly those in the tournament and those who have also signed but aren’t in the tournament will no longer be appearing for us. https://t.co/9gqZOxFCkZ
