Report by Mike Killam for ProWrestling.com

– Tom Phillips welcomes us to Smackdown alongside Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. They inform us that Daniel Bryan will be here later on tonight and we’ll have an update on his medical condition when he arrives.

– Jinder Mahal makes his way down with Sunil Singh, whose arm is wrapped in a sling after taking that beatdown last week. We were supposed to have a tag team match featuring these two, but the “Modern Day Maharaja” says he’s found an adequate replacement… Rusev hits the ring with Aiden English and it looks like we’re kicking things off with a little action!

RANDY ORTON & BOBBY ROODE vs. JINDER MAHAL & RUSEV

Long, slow-paced match to kick off the show. With the opening segment it took up the entire first half hour of the show. Things break down at the end when Jinder attacks Orton from behind and Roode makes the save, but the champion thought it was his partner who attacked him. Orton dropped Roode with an RKO but turned around into a superkick from Rusev! 1…2…3! The Bulgarian Brute has pinned the United States Champion!

Winners: Jinder Mahal & Rusev
