Who are the favourites to win the Championship?

Leeds United are bet365’s 8/13 (1.61) favourites to win the Championship and gain promotion back to the top flight after what will be 16 years away, with the leadership of Marcelo Bielsa no doubt a huge factor in that short price.

The Whites are battling for automatic promotion with 15 wins and five losses so far this term to put them second in the table, appearing to have put last season’s play-off semi-final heartbreak behind them.

West Brom can be backed at 2/1 (3.0) with bet365. The Baggies were in the fight for promotion last season and were the last unbeaten team in the division this time around, going nine games without defeat before losing to Leeds in October.

Slaven Bilic’s men had struggled for goals early on but boast the best attack by some distance with 50 strikes to their name and are top of the table after 27 games.

Brentford are available at 10/1 (11.0) and whilst they have struggled for consistency, the Bees currently sit inside the play-off places with 14 wins and nine losses to their name this season.

Fulham were relegated from the Premier League last term but are 33/1 (34.0) to go straight back up in style by winning the Championship, having retained the services of the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Tom Cairney.

The Cottagers started slow but have won 13 games, with Mitrovic the top scorer in the division and leading the promotion charge for his side.

Who are the Championship outsiders?

Nottingham Forest could make the play-offs this season but are 50/1 (51.0) to win the Championship, with Sabri Lamouchi having begun his reign by leading the east Midlanders to 12 wins and eight draws from their opening 27 games.

Sheffield Wednesday are 66/1 (67.0) to win the Championship, having taken 42 points so far but suffered in November after taking just three points from an available 15.

Swansea City are 200/1 (201.0) to win the Championship, having come down from a fine start to the campaign under new manager Steve Cooper and face a fight to stay in the play-off places.

Who are the Championship underdogs?

It is 350/1 (351.0) that Bristol City win the Championship, with the Robins looking like challenging for automatic promotion but a run of five losses in eight games over the Christmas period saw them drop out of the play-off places.

Preston are currently 500/1 (501.0) after an impressive start saw them score 37 goals, but a sequence of seven losses and three draws in a 12-game span in winter saw the Lilywhites drop into mid-table.

Millwall can be backed at 500/1 (501.0) after recovering from an exceptionally poor start to move into the top half of the table, but they are still 12 points off the pace.

Blackburn and Hull are both forcing their way up the table and each can also be backed at 750/1 (751.0), with Rovers especially finding form in the run-up to Christmas.
