This year’s New Japan Cup is down to its final four wrestlers.
Hiromu Takahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada and SANADA vs. EVIL are the semifinal matches for the tournament. Both semifinal matches are taking place tomorrow (Friday, July 3), with the show airing live for free on New Japan World starting at 6 a.m. Eastern time.
The quarterfinals for the New Japan Cup took place this morning. To advance to the next round, Takahashi defeated Tomohiro Ishii, Okada defeated Taiji Ishimori, SANADA defeated Taichi, and EVIL defeated YOSHI-HASHI.
Takahashi, SANADA, and EVIL are all members of Los Ingobernables de Japon. The winner of the New Japan Cup will challenge LIJ’s Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and IWGP Intercontinental Championship in the main event of Dominion.
The New Japan Cup finals are taking place on Saturday, July 11 and Dominion is taking place on Sunday, July 12. Both of those shows are being held at Osaka-jo Hall. There will be fans in attendance for both events, but the arena will be limited to one-third capacity.
