WWE surprised fans on Raw the night after WrestleMania 35 this year with the return of Sami Zayn. Zayn competed in his first match back with WWE since last year when he wrestled Finn Balor on Raw. Upon losing to Balor, Zayn cut a heel promo venting his frustrations with wrestling fans in general. According to WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry, Zayn’s promo was entirely unscripted. On Busted Open Radio, Henry revealed that Zayn spoke from the heart and decided that he was not going to hold back when he took the mic on Monday night. Henry gave him permission to go out in front of the Brooklyn crowd and cut his return promo just the way that he wanted to do it. Henry also said that Zayn could be a major player in WWE over the next few months.
“[Zayn] said ‘Mark, I’m not holding back no more.’ and I said don’t. There are people who can wrestle their ass off, but they don’t have to because they can get more done in a 3-minute promo than some can in a 20-minute match.” Henry said.
There’s a new documentary series called “Dark Side of the Ring” on VICELAND which has been highlighting some of the darker tales from behind the curtain in pro wrestling. Their premiere episode focused on the relationship between “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth. WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan responded to the show on Twitter recently by claiming that it did not depict an accurate representation of the relationship. The official Twitter account for the docu-series fired back with a response stating that they had asked Hogan for his participation before filming, but “The Hulkster” declined. Although Hogan did not want to comment on the story, they did say that they would be glad to have Hogan’s input on future episodes.
Thanks for watching. We reached out to you to participate in this but you declined. We would’ve love to have your POV for this story. Hope we can get you on the next one.

During the Hall of Fame ceremony last weekend, Bret Hart was suddenly attacked by a man named Zachary Madsen who managed to get into the ring and tackle the former world champion. It occurred during Hart’s speech for The Hart Foundation, and Madsen was promptly carried out out the Barclays Center and arrested. PWInsider reports that Madsen’s court appearance today was continued to May 28th. Madsen had been set to appear in Brooklyn’s Kings Criminal Court today to face two charges of third degree assault and trespassing for his actions at the Hall of Fame. Prior to storming the ring last week, Madsen had been posting strange tweets online, and he later told authorities that he attacked Hart because “it felt like the right time.”
