July 6, 2019
Dallas, TX

— Kevin Kelly and Rocky Romero are on commentary for tonight’s show at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Fans are still coming in, but the arena looks very empty based on photos.

— A video package airs hyping the A Block competitors we will see in tournament action later tonight. The crowd popped big for the image of KENTA.

GUERRILLAS OF DESTINY (TAMA TONGA & TONGA LOA) vs. ROPPONGI 3K (SHO & YOH)

We’ve got the former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions taking on the current IWGP Tag Team Champions and ROH World Tag Team Champions in a big opportunity for the rising juniors stars.

Roppongi 3K starts strong attacking before the bell, not giving Bullet Club time for its usual pre-match antics. GoD gain control for a few minutes and slow things down, but SHO fights back with a series of rapid knee strikes and dropkicks, and is joined by YOH as the two clean house. The crowd is 100% behind them as they signal for the 3K, but Tama Tonga comes out of nowhere with a Gun Stun dropping one of the boys, while Tanga Loa tackles the other into the corner. YOH gets killed with an Avalanche Razor’s Edge from the top rope, and that’s all she wrote. A fun opening match and a great way to kick things off! // Winners: Guerrillas of Destiny

REN NARITA & JEFF COBB vs. SHOTA UMINO & TOMOHIRO ISHII

This is our preview for the upcoming Cobb/Ishii tournament match, with the top two Young Lions thrown in because NJPW loves us (and loves punishing Young Lions more).

The big hosses choose to start this one and Cobb celebrates after hitting a huge dropkick on the Stone Pitbull, but Ishii absorbed the blow and turned him inside out with a running shoulder tackle. Ishii worked over Narita for a bit until Cobb got the hot tag later in the match and impressed with a stalling vertical suplex on the big man, followed by a series of release German suplexes. He tries to prove he can hang, trading heavy forearm shots with Ishii as they beat the hell out of each other. Ishii returns a German suplex and tags Umino, who comes in with a huge missile dropkick from the top rope. The Young Lion tries and tries, and finally manages to hoist up Cobb for a suplex, which the crowd eats up with a spoon. Cobb comes right back and levels the kid with a spinning back fist and a standing moonsault, then throws him off the ropes and hits Tour of the Islands to win. Cobb and Ishii brawl after the match until officials get them separated. // Winners: Jeff Cobb & Ren Narita
