Lucha Underground Threatens NWA and ROH With Cease and Desist, Wrestlers Seeking Legal Council

According to Lucha Central, Ring of Honor star Jeff Cobb and new AEW signee Sonny Kiss have sought out legal representation in hopes of getting a contractual release from their Lucha Underground contracts. Reports claim that Cobb, who worked as the Monster Matanza Cueto and was killed off from the show at the conclusion of season 4, is still under contract with LU despite his signing with ROH. Kiss, who wrestled under the moniker XO Lishus, was still an active character in the Temple Universe.

It is also suspected that Willie Mack lost the NWA National championship at Saturday’s Crockett Cup due to still be under contract with LU. LU also threatened ROH and the NWA a cease and desist for using Mack at several events. He is another star who is said to be seeking legal council.

This is the second wave of stars who are at battle with LU following a class-action lawsuit filed by wrestlers Joey Ryan, Ivelisse, and El Hijo del Fantasma against the promotion that eventually saw them all given their contractual release.

We’ll keep you updated.
