WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has addressed rumors that he is retiring from announcing. He tweeted on Saturday afternoon:
“At this stage of my life calling an occasional match is a rush. Coaching & training younger talents has become a true passion. NOT retired!”
As noted earlier, Jim Ross will still be calling the occasional high profile match, possibly as soon as WrestleMania 29.
JR also commented on this weekend’s 3-day WWE tryout camp at Tampa, Florida, where he is helping evaluate talent:
“Huge day at NXT try-outs. LONG day Fri. Judgment Day today. Camp ends Sun. Not open to public. Who’s gonna step up? We’re waiting.”
He later followed up with:
“Really nice DAY 2 at NXT TRYOUTS. Perceptions changed for some talents. Key day Sunday. Promos w/ @WWEDustyRhodes & Co. More bouts Sun”
