Manheim, PA – The final four slots for the 2013 NWCA/Cliff Keen “Mat Mayhem” National Dual Meet Championship Finals, presented by Hibiclens and the Marines, were filled after regional competition that featured four victorious regional #1 seeds, including the nationally ranked #1 Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Oklahoma State entered the weekend not only as the #1 ranked team nationally, but as the #1 seed in the Kent State Region.

The Cowboys began the day with a 34-10 victory against the home team, and nationally unranked Kent State Golden Flashes.
Oklahoma State then advanced to the regional final where they faced the #24 ranked University of Northern Iowa Panthers. The Cowboys wrestled to a 39-7 victory and claimed one of the four remaining spots in the National Dual Meet Championship Finals.
The Cowboys recorded six pins during the span of the competition, with Alan Gelogaev, Jordan Oliver, Chris Perry and Julian Feikert each recording one and Alex Dieringer recording two.
Missouri, currently the #6 team in the nation, began the day seeded as the #1 team in the Missouri Region, and ended the day with a regional victory, punching themselves a ticket to the National Dual Meet Championship Finals.
The Tigers, competing at home, took on unranked Maryland in the first round of competition, and defeated the Terrapins 27-13. In the finals Missouri defeated the #16 ranked Purdue Boilermakers 27-15.
Cornell, currently ranked #10 in the nation, followed in the Tigers’ and Cowboys’ footsteps and earned a position in the National Dual Meet Championship Finals after fiercely defending their #1 seed in the Cornell Region.
In the first round of competition Cornell wrestled to a shutout victory, defeating the Hofstra Pride 42-0. Cornell secured their position in the National Dual Meet Championship Finals after their 19-17 victory against #13 Nebraska.
Cornell logged five pins during the regional competition; one a piece from Stryker Lane, Steve Bosak and Jace Bennett and two from Kyle Dake.
The fourth spot to the National Dual Meet Championship was claimed by the nationally ranked #7 Virginia Tech Hokies, who held the #1 seed in the Oregon State Region.
The Hokies began the day with a 33-6 victory against the #25 ranked Oklahoma Sooners. The Hokies faced off against the host team, and nationally ranked #9 Oregon State Beavers in the regional finals. The Hokies prevailed with a 19-15 victory, earning them the final spot in the National Dual Meet Championship Finals.
Oklahoma State, Missouri, Cornell and Virginia Tech advance to the National Dual Meet Championship Finals where they will join #8 Illinois, #2 Iowa, #4 Minnesota and #5 Ohio State who all received automatic bids to the event.
The National Dual Meet Championship Finals will take place on February 22-23 in Williams Arena, located on the campus of University of Minnesota.
