First Two Matches Announced For Upcoming Cruiserweight Tournament

As previously reported, WWE will be starting a tournament on 205 Live beginning next week in order to find a new #1 contender to the Cruiserweight Championship, with the winner facing Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania this April.

While we still don’t have any brackets or any indication on how the rest of the tournament will shape up, the first two matches have been announced for next Tuesday night’s show. Former Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto will square off against Tony Nese, while Drew Gulak collides with The Brian Kendrick.

Humberto Carrillo scored a win over TJP this week on 205 Live earning his way into the tournament, while Cedric Alexander beat Mike Kanellis in the show’s main event, so both men will be involved in the tournament as well, with matches likely taking place in two week’s time. That leaves two spots left to be revealed.

#205Live's Road to #WrestleMania begins NEXT WEEK as the tournament to determine @WWE_Murphy's @WrestleMania challenger begins!
