Marc Strandquist Posthumously Awarded NFDA’s 2024 Fastener Profe

The National Fastener Distributors Association (NFDA) is honored to announce that the 2024 recipient of its Fastener Professional of the Year award is Marc Strandquist.

In his nomination of Marc, Doug Ruggles stated “I don’t know anyone who has had a broader impact on the industry driving professionalism, growth, and a commitment to giving back. He was beloved by his team and customers because of his ability to connect with them and truly care for their goodwill.”

Marc graduated from Guilford High School in 1980 and Southern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army as an officer with 10 years in the National Guard and Army Reserves serving in Operation Desert Storm at Ft. Benning, GA, and retired as a Captain. Marc married Vonda in 1986 and together they celebrated 37 years and raised three kids, two of whom are carrying on the name in the fastener world.

Marc started his career in the fastener industry as a salesman in 1986 and worked his way up to CEO of two different global fastener companies during his career: Wurth Industry North America and Optimas Solutions. He was in the fastener industry for 37 years in various roles; both distribution and manufacturing. During his career, he accomplished much, and he prided himself on creating positive work cultures and employee engagement. His enthusiasm and positive approach to managing was infectious and felt by employees and customers alike.

Marc was the consummate businessman who could relate to people and circumstances at every level, from warehouse employees to C-suite executives. He knew how to bring individuals together to solve problems and move the business forward. Marc helped craft some of the largest and most complex contracts in the fastener industry. His work in mergers and acquisitions added many strategic and synergistic companies to his management portfolio.

Marc served as President of the National Fastener Distributors Association from 2016-2017. He was driven to mentor and guide people in their careers and helped many people grow and develop over the years.

Over his lifetime he was involved with many community organizations like the Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, and the YMCA. He also ran the Madison Ohio YMCA Indian Guides Program and along with his family was voted Family of the Year. Marc coached Little League baseball for more than 20 years in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Ontario. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Jackson, TN.

Marc was a lifelong hunter and fisherman. He loved his hunting dogs, especially Gunther. He also enjoyed traveling the world and was known for his deep trivia knowledge. Marc loved military history and science fiction and was an avid Star Trek fan and a lifelong Packers fan.

当心博物馆的展陈陷入“沉浸式”误区

  观点提要

  不能因为“沉浸式”这个概念,而忽视了博物馆的核心价值观,忽视了文物在博物馆中的重要性。更要警惕这种过于讲究形式的展陈,在一定程度上消解了人们对于文物展示的关注。

  今日中国很多的博物馆,尤其那些新建或升级改造过的博物馆,都痴迷于所谓的“沉浸式”展陈方式,喜欢在展厅中模仿实景搭建。实际上这是一种流行的或商业的话语。几乎是最近几年之内,“沉浸式”这个词从陌生到时尚,很快演变成一种社会潮流。当然,它在博物馆中的概念是非常明确的,打造一个与历史和生活现实相关的场景,从而获得一种场景体验。虽然,这种商业性或迎合世俗的方式,打着文化的旗号,但其“沉浸式”中虚假的实景模拟并没有表现出多少文化特点。博物馆还是应该主要用文物这一种实际的存在让人们感觉到历史的真实,而不是大量用一种人为构造的“沉浸式”让人们去怀想,去感受那种虚假。

  从历史的发展来看,在中国博物馆起步的初级阶段,这样一种场景在博物馆展厅中早就出现过。比如展现新石器时代或者更远的旧石器时代的人类活动,因为今人充满了幻想,所以,在一些历史类博物馆中就会用这样的方式去还原人们难以认知的过去的特定场景。可是,当它如今成为博物馆展陈中的一种潮流而普遍展开之后,就发现这一潮流所对应的是填补展陈空间,或弥补展品的不足。那么,这也和社会潮流中的那些广泛应用联系到了一起,比如说导航可以切换成“沉浸式导航”,视频中的电器开箱也出现了“沉浸式开箱”,如此等等,这种“沉浸式”可以说已经无处不在。

  显然,博物馆的独特性并不是靠这种流行的语言来实现自己的价值观。博物馆应该有它独特的方式。在博物馆的展陈中,适当运用或局部、个别、偶尔运用“沉浸式”手段,是无妨的。但比如有些博物馆,实在是因为建造了巨大的场馆,无法填补巨大的空间,而营造一些较大的场景。这就提出了另外的问题:馆藏文物不足,为什么要造那么大的博物馆?偌大的场景在博物馆中的出现,完全消解了博物馆的历史感,而用一种几乎是看图说话的儿童语言来占据博物馆的巨大空间,完全没有考虑到这种场景与文物之间的比例和关系,也疏离了这种场景与博物馆的感觉,却在一种相去甚远的感叹中让人们厌恶这种“沉浸式”。在一些具有丰富藏品的博物馆,为了赶潮流而用了这样一种所谓的“沉浸式”来顺应,同样会对博物馆整体形象的塑造有影响。当然,个中原因有多方面,被展陈公司绑架是其中之一;另一方面也暴露了博物馆审美的欠缺。

  对于博物馆来说,如何处理好博物馆展品与展陈之间的关系问题,说一千道一万,还是要用文物来说话,用展品来说话。打造再多的、再高级的、再炫的场景,它也只是场景,因为这种场景包括方式不仅可以出现在博物馆,也可以出现在商场,还可以出现在其它公共场所。那么,这种场景与博物馆之间的关系问题,对于博物馆的管理者和展陈设计的专业人士来说,都应该有属于博物馆的那种独特的感觉——博物馆应该是彼此之间的不同,应该是在不同中创造它的独特性。这种独特性对于博物馆来说非常重要,千万不能用一种所谓的潮流和时尚的方式让博物馆形成“千馆一面”的局面。可是,这种“千馆一面”的问题在目前博物馆的展陈中已经显现出来。很多博物馆展陈的语言和方式都具有相似性,都在反复用同样的方式来对待不同的展品、不同的博物馆。众多博物馆专业和藏品各有侧重与区别,这种不同本是创造博物馆独特性的一种与生俱来的优势。然而,展陈却很可能用同一性来抹平了这种特殊性,使得“千馆一面”成为当今博物馆普遍出现的问题。博物馆应该警惕“沉浸式”展陈对于博物馆的伤害,应该杜绝这种流行的展陈语言对于博物馆独特性的伤害。

  当然,在具体的工作中,因为展陈公司并非以文化的责任来表现其社会担当,可是,专业伦理却是一种基本的职业道德。对于展陈公司来说,有具体的利润,有资本的动力,还有很多经济方面的诉求,他们所推动的“沉浸式”,本质上可能是商业的噱头,通过一个概念来创造更大商业价值。这之中如果说“场景”,可能让人感觉平常或是普通;可一说“沉浸式”,好像立马高大上起来,实际上是换汤不换药。一个商业的噱头,不仅加大了博物馆展陈的费用,而且这种费用是超出人们想象的。一般来说,展柜、展台等展览设备都有一定价格的依据或参照,而这种所谓的“沉浸式”场景,会牵涉到一些具体场景的搭建,一些人物雕塑和全景画等具体内容。它们都没有明码标价,也难以明码标价,其设计和制作往往没有价格规律可循,甚至难以找到参照,这就形成了一个无底洞。这也是为什么很多展陈公司乐意去做诸多“沉浸式”场景的一个重要方面。

  对于这些项目中出现的问题,很多博物馆并没有发现它未来的隐患。“沉浸式”存在着它固有的局限性。这就是当新鲜一两年之后,它不仅表现在视觉上的落后,而且在所关联的声光电系统的老化和损坏之后,往往是残缺不全;再就是蒙上尘垢而难以清洁,影响到博物馆的形象。如此等等,实际上是展陈公司利用“沉浸式”给博物馆挖了一个坑。因为这种“沉浸式”如果出现在商场或其他公共场所,往往有一定的时间性,3个月或者5个月就可能会更换新的内容,而博物馆的“沉浸式”少则三五年,多则十年八年或更长。在这个很长时间不替换的长期陈列中,一切问题的存在都可以想象。而博物馆从新馆布展到老馆展陈的改造升级,都有一笔巨额资金来支持,一时显得财大气粗。然而,完成之后的很长时间之内并没有配套的维修资金,那么,声光电系统中的很多都是憋火的,从而形成“沉浸式”的残缺不全,或蓬头垢面。

  对于“沉浸式”,从博物馆的观念到理论,从整体感觉到具体实践,都存在着一系列的问题。当然,“沉浸式”是想通过特定的场景与展览主题联系起来,以丰富展览。可是,与展览的联系,特别是与文物的联系,实际上有很多不同的方式。比如,加强对展览文物的解读,发掘更多与文物相关的故事,包括出土的过程、流传的经过、研究的结论或不同的看法等等,都是在专业范围内让文物来讲话。显然,这也是观众感兴趣的问题。博物馆对文物的关注天经地义,可是,文物千差万别,任何一家博物馆都不可能涵盖所有,尺有所短,寸有所长,通过展陈来弥补短板,尤其是知识的短板,就显得尤为重要。比如展出馆藏的“青铜鸮尊”,能够把其他馆同类型的“青铜鸮尊”图片一起陈列出来,甚至可以扩大到陶器等其他材质,以显示“鸮尊”的不同状态以及在造型和装饰上的差异,从而获得对这一类型藏品的多方面认知,而不是简单就事论事。这样,即使展出中的藏品在整体上不如殷墟妇好墓中所出,不如国家博物馆所藏,那自身的特点和优长也会在对比中显现出来,而观众的获得则远远超过那单一的陈列。

  如此来看,这正是国内很多博物馆在展陈中的疏忽,而从本源上来看展览策划,也暴露出学术的深度不够。因为很多博物馆对“沉浸式”的兴趣远远大于对文物的兴趣,而这种兴趣点的转移,在一定程度上也说明了博物馆在主业上的欠缺。无疑,博物馆在展陈中加强挖掘学术的内涵,需要学术的累积,需要众多专业人员在各个不同方面的研究。如果能够通过一两件文物去说明诸多的历史和艺术的问题,并且在关联中实现博物馆的知识生产的价值,那么,博物馆内容的重要性就能显现出来,而不是形式表面的“沉浸式”。

  如今最重要的是,我们不能因为“沉浸式”这个概念,而忽视了博物馆的核心价值观,忽视了文物在博物馆中的重要性。更要警惕,这种过于讲究形式的展陈,在一定程度上消解了人们对于文物展示的关注。这种转移视线、转移视点,在一定程度上也影响了公众与博物馆之间的关系,也影响了公众进入博物馆之后的感觉。博物馆还是应该很纯粹,还是应该通过属于规律性的展陈方式,显现文物的独特价值,显现博物馆的独特品格,以远离“千馆一面”。

  党的十八大以来,我国儿童发展和儿童事业取得巨大成就。广大少年儿童刻苦学习、树立理想、砥砺品格、增长本领,成长为更加自信、自立、自强的一代新人。少年儿童的茁壮成长和幼有所育、学有所教的幸福图景,激发着当代美术工作者的创作热情。一件件充满关爱之情的美术作品,寄寓人们对祖国花朵的美好期冀,体现了少年儿童满满的获得感、幸福感和安全感。从一言一行到一举一动,在美术工作者笔下,当代少年儿童德智体美劳全面发展的多彩图景铺展开来。

  展现童心筑梦之志

  少年有志,国家有望。新时代少年儿童立志向、有梦想的精神风貌,感染着美术工作者,他们以七彩画笔绘写童心筑梦新篇章,成为儿童题材美术创作中的亮点。

  童心向党。新时代的少年儿童,在传承红色基因中涵养家国情怀、砥砺强国之志,为努力做社会主义建设者和接班人筑牢思想根基。马文甲的雕塑《长征精神代代传》,便以一老一小为表现对象,塑造了一位老红军将草鞋传给后代的场景,寓意赓续共产党人精神血脉,是走好新长征路的强大精神动力。老红军坐在轮椅上,形象朴实,目光坚毅;小女孩系着红领巾,挺拔站立,深情望向老人的同时,双手接过草鞋,充满朝气。一老一小两个人物形象相呼应,生动诠释了传承红色基因的深刻内涵。同样的立意,赵国强的油画《传承》以日常视角,彰显了少年儿童弘扬红色精神的自觉。画面上,两个学生正在认真悬挂画页。这些画页记录着百年党史中的重要时间节点和重大历史事件。佩戴红领巾的男生手持画页,举止中蕴含着仪式感。这两件作品,虽艺术形式各异,但都体现了当代少先队员“从小学先锋、长大做先锋”的先进性。

  新时代少年儿童视野开阔、知识丰富,他们的梦想也更加远大。马瑞波的中国画《哈喽!北斗》,以“启迪”为灵感,描绘了5个孩童排队用天文望远镜观察北斗卫星的情景。穹顶式弧形构图代表浩渺的苍穹,卫星隐现其中,象征科学梦想的种子正在越来越多的少年儿童心中发芽。陈飞飞的中国画《成长日记之航天梦》,则打破常规表现方式,以超现实的手法刻画了一张悬浮在太空中的儿童书桌。书桌四周环绕着飞机、卫星和银河等形象,折射出书桌的小主人胸怀航天梦,达到了“此时无声胜有声”的艺术效果。

  不论是肖像描绘,还是情景刻画,这些美术作品都深刻关注少年儿童成长中的新变化、新风貌,并通过艺术化的提炼,赋予其独特的精神色彩,既拓展了儿童题材美术创作新空间,又注入了新内涵。

  镌刻砥砺品格之道

  少年儿童立志成才,既要修身立德、志存高远,也要强健体魄、锤炼意志等。在美术工作者笔下,当代少年儿童向上向善的追求得到多元展现。

  体育运动尤其能增强少儿体质、培养拼搏精神。随着体育强国、健康中国建设全面推进,越来越多的少年儿童爱上体育运动,这一变化也丰富了儿童题材美术创作内容。在隋荣钰的中国画《百舸争流》中,黑、白、灰三色构成了颇具现代感的画面,孩子们参与冰雪运动的热情扑面而来;在刘海涛的中国画《希望的田野》中,作者以充满诗意的语言再现了一群孩童在田间奔跑的快乐场景,生机活力荡漾开来;在郭春平的中国画《少年与速度》中,画家通过捕捉儿童轮滑竞赛的瞬间,传递出勇于争先的精神……这些作品,皆超越单纯的运动再现,借助人物塑造,展现丰厚的精神内涵。

  当下,社会各界越来越注重加强少年儿童社会实践,鼓励少年儿童参与力所能及的社会公益活动,提高少年儿童的社会参与能力。何云的中国画《情暖人间三月天》,以椭圆形的构图,定格爱心粥发放点的暖人瞬间。画面中,大人站在后方,两位小志愿者冲在前面,相互协作,将爱心粥发放给市民,在温暖别人的同时,孩子们也收获了精神上的成长。参加冬令营、夏令营,可以让小朋友们互相学习、增长见识,军事拓展训练等活动尤其能带给孩子不一样的体验。高金丽的中国画《琢玉》,以军训课为内容,描绘了一群身穿迷彩服的小学生认真聆听青年教官讲解的场景。孩子们神情专注,显然已融入这项训练。作品名称进一步点明了砥砺少年儿童品格以助成长的创作主旨。

  还有一些美术作品通过日常生活细节刻画,展现新时代育人观念。如王珮如的中国画《家风》,以工笔技法细致勾勒了一名儿童认真给妈妈戴眼镜的温馨画面。旁边站着一个小女孩,在帮妈妈打伞,妈妈和孩子们脸上都洋溢着幸福的微笑,人物关系形成呼应。

  倡扬共育新人之风

  美术工作者敏锐捕捉少儿教育中的新实践、新气象,通过美术作品展现时代发展、社会进步。

  从有学上到上好学、从学有所教到学有优教,让每个孩子都能享受公平而有质量的教育正在变为现实。这些进步,在美术工作者笔下得到立体呈现。例如,刘璐璐的中国画《宽厚里托幼班的正午阳光》,以九宫格的构图,再现了孩子们在幼儿园午休的温馨画面,寓意普惠托育服务体系不断完善,婴幼儿得到更好的保育、呵护。王树霞的中国画《美丽校园·新社团》,以“新”为题眼,通过学生参加科技类社团的场景,展现了学校与时俱进的教育理念。张春艳的中国画《支教留念》和王子锟的中国画《育新人》,则将目光对准乡村教育的发展。前者借用摄影中常见的“全家福”构图,镌刻年轻教师与乡村儿童亲如一家的美好时光。后者以三联画表现了乡村教育的高质量发展:中间画面上,一群孩子将老师团团围住,认真聆听老师答疑解惑;左右两侧画面上,孩子们拿着书本、排着队正向老师靠拢。作品借鉴年画形式,以欢快明亮的色调强化了育新人的主题。

  呵护少儿健康成长、关爱困难儿童群体……全社会形成合力,共同守护新时代少年儿童的美好未来。陈海强的油画《母婴工作室》以三联画的形式,从多个视角展现了职工亲子工作室内的温馨场景。左侧护理台上,妈妈正在给孩子换尿不湿;右侧爱心妈咪小屋门口,刚刚结束哺乳的母子幸福相依;中间的活动室,妈妈们正在和孩子们一起游戏、阅读。作品生动表现了职工亲子工作室为职工和孩子撑起一片爱的天空。李珊的漆画《星星的孩子》和朱蓓蕾的中国画《关爱》,关注的是近年来日益完善的残疾儿童教育。《星星的孩子》用浪漫的手法,刻画了一个小女孩走出“孤独”的幸福模样;《关爱》以淡雅温暖的色彩,描绘了一位青年女教师弯着腰耐心辅导智障儿童的细节。两件作品皆以小见大,寓示“让每一个孩子都对自己有信心、对未来有希望”的教育理念正成为全社会的共识。

  如今,孩子们接受教育的方式愈发多元,不仅勤学书本知识,还多学课外知识,不断丰富精神世界、培养创造能力。这也为美术工作者提供了丰富的创作素材。刘山花的中国画《声音》,聚焦少儿声乐演奏现场,鼓声阵阵、笛声悠悠,孩子们专注、认真的神情动人。在李冬梅的色粉画《逐梦·助力乡村美育行动》中,孩子们在墙上自由创作,明亮的光洒向屋内,照亮了孩子们的梦想,也预示着乡村美育的光明未来。

  美术工作者兼收并蓄,将儿童题材美术创作植根于历史、文化、生活、教育的土壤,通过小题材的深化,折射大时代的变迁。透过这些作品,观众既可以领略童年如画的诗意,又能深切感受到一代新人正茁壮成长。

Ambassador Of Uruguay in Beijing And Foreign Guests Visited Fuji

 On January 15, the Ambassador of Uruguay in Beijing, Fernando Lugris along with his delegation visited Quanzhou City and QuanGong Machinery Co., Ltd, the leading enterprise of ecological concrete block-making machines.

 

 The ambassador's visit was accompanied by Mr Ma Wenlang, Consul General in Guangzhou, Mr Martin Orlando, Embassy Counsellor, Ms Angela Bernard, Embassy's wife, Mr Wu Yihui, Minister of Part and the masses service department of Quanzhou Taiwan Business Investment Zone, Mr Gao Biju, Chief of Section of Collateral Section of Municipal Government Office, Mr Zeng Zhiqiang, Chief of Section of Taiwan Business Section and Economic Bureau, Mr Zheng Yizhe, Deputy Secretary of Zhang Ban Town, and Mr Fu Xinyuan, QGM General Manager received the whole visit.
