André Villas-Boas has told his players “he has not yet left” Marseille, despite Zubizaretta’s departure

RMC Sport report that Marseille manager André Villas-Boas has been communicating with multiple leaders in his dressing room over the last few hours, following meetings between him and President Jacques-Henri Eyraud about his future and the departure of Sporting Director Andoni Zubizaretta, who was initially responsible for AVB’s arrival at the club.

Steve Mandanda, as well as other players, have been in communication with AVB, who has told them that he “has not yet left” the club, but also did not hide the fact that he is unhappy with the current situation and confirmed that he has many disagreements with President Eyraud. Zubizaretta’s departure has so upset Villas-Boas that he has even travell edback to his native Portugal for the moment.

His agents, contacted, repeat that he remains under contract with OM until 2021, which therefore means that a premature departure would result in severance costs. Costs that OM might not be able to afford these days.

PSG won’t be signing Kalidou Koulibaly – Le Parisien

Le Parisien report that Ligue 1 champions PSG will not be signing Senegalese international central defender Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, affirming instead that the player is likely to move to England this summer.

The 29-year-old came through the youth setup at Metz, and recently bought an apartment in Paris, and Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has a good relationship with PSG Sporting Director Leonardo. But the two clubs won’t do a deal owing to the asking price for the player.

The club’s summer priority is the acquisition of Mauro Icardi, which if he costs the full €70m option to buy, then PSG will not have much money left over for additional deals. At left-back, Alex Telles, the Brazilian from FC Porto, is receiving very admiring glances from Sporting Director Leonardo. A deal could be done for €20m, the outlet claims.

Minister for Sports goads Lyon President Aulas, invites him “to make a film”

Speaking in an interview published by L’Alsace, Minister for Sports Roxana Maracineanu responded to Lyon President Aulas’ repeated attempts to get Ligue 1 2019/20 campaign action back underway.

As revealed in our French Football Farce piece earlier this week, Maracineanu made inaccurate private and public assertions that inadvertently or otherwise contributed to the premature termination of the 2019/20 season.

“What do you want me to say? Cinemas will reopen soon. If Mr Aulas has different scenarios to propose, I invite him to make a film and to screen it in a cinema as it will be open to the public.”

“I responded to one of the many letters that he sent to me where I re-explained to him how the State functions, as well as the FFF and the LFP, and the relationships between them all.”

PSG looking at possible Léo Dubois (Lyon) approach

Le Journal du Dimanche report that PSG are weighing up a possible summer move for Lyon’s French international right-back Léo Dubois.

The 25-year-old is under contract with OL until June 2024, but has shown himself in recent months to be the most impressive player in his position in Ligue 1.

Les Parisiens admire the player’s profile, especially because he would fit the required criteria for Champions’ League squads of having been formed in the country of the club’s origin: France – the outlet claims that PSG are concerned about meeting this requirement easily next season, with the departures of Adil Aouchiche and Tanguy Kouassi seeing them lose considerable local talent this summer.

Goal France and TF1 report that 15-year-old central defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu is yet another youngster that PSG are potentially poised to lose.

The 1.95m giant is attracting serious interest from Bayern Munich, who this week already stole away another Paris teenage defender in Tanguy Kouassi.

Bitshiabu has yet to make a final decision on his future – on whether or not he should sign a new youth contract with Les Parisiens.

The U16 French youth international already played for two age groups above what his age suggests he should this season when he represented the U17s this campaign.

Layvin Kurzawa to double current salary with new PSG contract

France Football confirm reporting from RMC Sport last night that Layvin Kurzawa has agreed in principle to sign a new 4-year contract with PSG, with his current deal due to expire at the end of August when the 2019/20 Champions’ League action has been completed.

The new contract will see the French international double his current salary to €3m a year net. His agent, Kia Joorabchian, initially wanted the new deal to be a 3-year contract but with the option to extend by a further fourth year.
