— According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, if New Japan begins to get a strong foothold outside of Japan, WWE will look to immediately stop them and the first move to accomplish that would clearly be to snatch Kenny Omega away from them.
— Omega is only under contract to New Japan until January 31, 2019 but has repeatedly stated that he has no intentions of signing anywhere else likely because he’s guaranteed a top position in the promotion and has significant creative freedom for his character.
