For Immediate Release – June 24, 2019
IMPACT Wrestling Partners with Major League Soccer (MLS) Team FC Dallas
DALLAS – IMPACT Wrestling is teaming up with FC Dallas for a series of promotions and events leading up to Slammiversary XVII, which will be held Sunday night, July 7, at Gilley’s Dallas.
IMPACT World Champion Brian Cage will attend the team’s home match on Thursday, July 4, at Toyota Stadium in suburban Frisco, Texas, just outside of Dallas. Cage will cheer on the host club in its match that night against D.C. United, which is expected to draw about 20,000 fans for the holiday night match.
Cage will be interviewed at the game by Gina Miller, who is the VP of Media & Communications for FC Dallas and has hosted/produced FC Dallas Live, a pre-game show that airs on TXA21. Miller is an award-winning sportscaster who has worked in numerous markets, including Dallas and Los Angeles.
“We’re thrilled Brian will be at the July 4th game and is bringing the World Championship belt with him,” said Miller. “It will be great to see the title up-close and in-person.”
Cage also will be participating in a special halftime promotion, where he will attempt to score a penalty kick – against the team’s mascot, a bull named Tex Hooper.
“I’m looking forward to going to the FC Dallas game on July 4th, cheering the team to victory and spending time with the strong fanbase, many of whom will be at Slammiversary on Sunday to root me on,” said Cage.
Cage also will participate in other in-stadium promotions with the team and meet with the players and coaches. In addition, he will meet with some of the soccer club’s youth teams.
IMPACT Wrestling presents Slammiversary XVII on Sunday, July 7, live on pay-per-view from Gilley’s Dallas. Brian Cage defends that World Championship at Slammiversary against Michael Elgin.

Summerslam plans change due to Heyman and Bischoff’s hiring?

It was reported several weeks ago that Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff were hired to be the Executive Directors of RAW and Smackdown, respectively. This means that they will oversee all creative aspects but report directly to Vince McMahon. Heyman’s influence over RAW has reportedly already started to show in recent weeks, while Bischoff is reportedly expected to start after Extreme Rules. According to Wrestle Votes, this means that whatever plans WWE had set for Summerslam are likely to change as both men settle into their new roles and shake things up creatively.
The report reads: “Was told recently that anything WWE had planned for SummerSlam in advance was all subject to change once Bischoff & Heyman fully start their roles this upcoming week. Good on Vince & Co to allow a legitimate clean start. No forced agendas off the jump. That’s how it should be.”Click Here: offaly gaa jerseys

Eva Marie Would Return to WWE If She Had a Run with Bayley

Former WWE Superstar Eva Marie recently took to Twitter to comment on a recent interview with Bayley for FOX Sports’ Fair Game and Kristine Leahy. Eva Marie had high praise for the Smackdown Live women’s champ and said she would come back to WWE just to have a run with her. Bayley later responded and told her to come back to WWE.
During her Fair Game interview, Bayley cited her matches with Eva Marie in NXT as some of her “favorite” ones. She stated, “My matches with her were my favorite because they hated her. And they loved me, so it was so much fun and easy.”
Eva Marie wrote in response to the interview clip, “Bayley taught me so much about in ring performance, and always went above and beyond to show me the ropes. My matches with her were hands down my favorite! I would come back just to do a run with her!”
Bayley later wrote in response, “Thank you. I’ll take that as a challenge. Come on back, sister.” You can check out that Twitter exchange below.

Government confirms plans to allow supporters back into stadiums from 7 June

CROWDS WILL SLOWLY begin to be welcomed back into sports stadiums in the Republic of Ireland in the coming weeks, with the latest easing of Covid-19 restrictions announced by Taoiseach Micheál Martin this evening.

From 7 June, up to 200 people will be allowed attend outdoor events at venues which have a minimum capacity of 5,000, while up to 100 people can attend other outdoor events.

Gyms, swimming pools and leisure centres will also reopen for individual training only on this date.

July will see the return of indoor sports events and activities, while from 5 July, most outdoor events will be allowed crowds of up to 200, with a maximum of 500 allowed at outdoor venues and stadiums with a minimum capacity of 5,000.

It is hoped that these numbers will increase again in August.

The government have also announced a series of test events to take place in June, with a view of informing guidance for venues due to reopen in July or for growing crowd numbers in August.

Minister of State for Sport, Jack Chambers, has confirmed further test events for July and August.

On 11 June, a maximum of 1,200 supporters will be allowed attend the Leinster v Dragons rugby game at the RDS. Up to 1,000 will be permitted at the League of Ireland meeting between Shamrock Rovers and Finn Harps at Tallaght Stadium, with 600 present for Cork City and Cabinteely at Turner’s Cross.

The Camogie National League finals on 20 June will also serve as a test event with a crowd of up to 3,000 allowed in Croke Park. On 26 June up to 400 spectators will be allowed attend the National Athletics Championships at Morton Stadium in Santry, and up to 1,000 racegoers will back at the Curragh at the end of June.

The LGFA have also confirmed that their National League Division 1 and 2 finals on 26 June in Croke Park will act as a test event.

The test events planned for July include the Ireland rugby team’s matches against Japan (3 July) and the USA (10 July) at the Aviva Stadium.

The Munster hurling championship semi-final meeting of Cork and Limerick in Thurles on 3 July will also serve as a test event, as will the Irish Open at Mount Juliet.

A list of the planned test events is available here.
