This week’s episode of WWE Raw saw not one, but two potential injury angles as the women’s division gets set for a massive Money in the Bank pay-per-view next weekend in Chicago, IL.
The first incident came when Natalya appeared to roll her knee coming off the ropes, during a match with Raw Women’s Champion Nia Jax. After the bout Nattie’s friend and training partner Ronda Rousey – who will face Jax next Sunday – tried to come to her aid, but the injured superstar refused aid and later walked out on both women as they were arguing backstage.

The second incident came when Alexa Bliss was “injured” during a six-woman tag team match, although it looked like Miss Bliss was just looking for an excuse not to get banged up prior to Money in the Bank, leaving her partners high and dry.
In the preview for next week’s WWE Raw, taking place at the Verizon Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas, WWE.com is questioning whether or not either superstar will be ready to compete in their scheduled Fatal 4-Way match against Sasha Banks and Ember Moon. That bout will be the final test for the ladies of the red brand, as they face off against four members of Team Smackdown in next Sunday’s Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Interestingly, this past week on Smackdown Live commentator Corey Graves appeared to slip up by saying that Bayley was a part of the women’s ladder match. He quickly corrected himself, posing the “what if?” question if either Natalya or Alexa Bliss were too injured to compete in the bout.
While we can’t exactly report this as anything but pure speculation, there has been a lot of talk about Natalya possibly turning on Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank, creating a situation where Nia Jax could retain the Raw Women’s Championship without the Rowdy one looking weak in her debut singles contest. If they go the injury angle route, it would make sense for Natalya to be removed from MITB, creating incentive for the heel turn, as she was injured while facing Nia Jax in a show of solidarity for her friend.
