It has been more than five years since Dwayne Johnson announced that he would be playing super villain Black Adam in a DC Comics film.
It was originally thought that he would take on the role for the movie Shazam!, but when that release came and went earlier this year, many assumed that DC’s collaboration with the Great One was dead.
Johnson confirmed today on Twitter that not only is he still playing the role of Black Adam, but that production on the film is scheduled to begin in July 2020. Currently Jaume Collet-Serra, who is also directing Rock’s upcoming Disney Jungle Cruise film, is tapped to helm the project.
Very cool man, thank you.
