UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (4-1) will likely defend his newly-unified gold against 6″4 255 pound Shane Carwin (11-0) at UFC 106 on November 21 from Las Vegas. The fight has not been confirmed yet by the UFC but was originally reported by MMAMadness.com and has been widely reported by the MMA media.
It had been rumored that Carwin would fight Cain Velasquez (6-0) at UFC 106 with the winner getting a shot at Lesnar next year. However, Valasquez will now fight an unnamed opponent on UFC 106 and there’s talk of him getting a shot at the winner of Lesnar-Carwin.
After defeating Frank Mir at UFC 100, Brock Lenar received a lot of heat for his post-fight antics, which included flipping off the crowd, taunting Mir, talking about getting on top of his wife and badmouthing one of UFC’s biggest sponsors, Budweiser. Shane Carwin posted a long blog about Lesnar not acting like a champion and was clearly putting himself on the champion’s radar.
