It was reported earlier in the week that former WWE wrestler Tyson Kidd is about to be transitioned in to a new non-wrestling role. Tyson Kidd used to wrestle for the company, winning the WWE Tag Team Championships on a few different occasions, and even challenging for the NXT Championship at various points as well. Rather than let him go, it seems that Kidd is going to be working in a new role that won’t require him to do anything physical. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that Kidd is being transitioned into a backstage producer/agent role, and that he is going to be working on the Smackdown brand when the time comes for him to begin his work.
Tyson Kidd has been wrestling professionally since 1995, and he was one of the final graduates of Stu Hart’s Dungeon where many other famous professional wrestlers had been trained. He is certainly knowledgeable on wrestling and could be a great fit for an agent role. Tyson Kidd was injured after a bad response to Samoa Joe’s Muscle Buster before a Raw show began in 2015. Kidd claimed to have 16 staples, four screws, and a rod installed into his neck, and that only 5% of people survive the injury that he had. His role on Smackdown is expected to begin soon, and his new job will allow him to work alongside his wife Natalya.
A WWE Performance Center star has recently undergone a name change. The Team 3D Academy graduate MaryKate Glidewell, who used to compete on NXT live events as Andrea, will now be known as Sage Miller. All of her social media profiles have been changed to reflect her new ring name, and that is what she will be going by. A name change could mean that she will be competing in the upcoming Mae Young Classic tournament, but that has not been confirmed as of yet. Miller joins the list of Lars Sullivan, Abbey Laith, Bianca BelAir, Sarah Logan, and Sonya Deville of Performance Center trainees who have had their names changed recently.
