It appears that a certain former Knockouts Champion is officially finished with Global Force Wrestling. Despite her departure not being announced yet, she does seem to be gone from the organization. Madison Rayne’s profile has been removed from the Global Force website and he is not listed in the alumni section of the site either. Rayne has only wrestled or the company on one occasion in 2017, and was largely finished with her in-ring career already. Prior to her leaving the company, she worked on the creative team for the company and also co-hosted a web series entitled “With This Ring…” with her husband, Josh Matthews.
Ever since it was revealed that WWE would be holding a pay-per-view this year, fans have been very vocal on their thoughts of the new name. Who on earth could’ve come up with that name for a wrestling pay-per-view? According to Kurt Angle in an interview with the Dallas Observer, Vince McMahon himself is responsible for developing the new title. Angles revealed that McMahon came up with the name and thought that it was “hilarious,” and that he expected it to be a new annual show. WWE had to fight for the rights to get the name from singer Jerry Lee Lewis. It’s safe to assume that they will be making the most of this name for a little while.
In other news, a former NXT Tag Team Champion is officially cleared to wrestle anywhere that he wants now. Gotch served his 90-day no-compete clause that each WWE contract comes with. This means that he is free to sign with any major wrestling promotion such as Global Force Wrestling, Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, or anywhere else he can find work. The former Vaudevillain has confirmed that his 90-day sentence has officially ended, and that he is free for any appearances. Gotch was released from his WWE contract shortly after this year’s Wrestlemania, and he has a lot left to prove in the wrestling world at only 34 years old. Simon has confirmed that he will be continuing his wrestling career on the independent circuit.
