Edge appearance confirmed for Monday's WWE Raw

For the first time since the angle where he was attacked by Randy Orton the night after the Royal Rumble, Edge is returning to WWE television.

WWE has officially confirmed that Edge will appear on Monday’s episode of Raw. The show is taking place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

The Capital One Arena had advertised last month that Edge would be returning on the episode.

Edge’s return comes after Beth Phoenix was laid out with an RKO by Orton at the end of Raw this past Monday. WWE had advertised that Phoenix would be on the show to give an update on Edge’s condition, but Orton interrupted her after she came to the ring.

Orton told Phoenix that he owed her an explanation for why he attacked Edge. He claimed that he loves Edge and was doing what was best for him by making sure he wouldn’t continue wrestling after returning at the Royal Rumble. Orton called Edge a junkie for the roar of the crowd and said Phoenix is an enabler. Orton also said he loved Edge & Phoenix’s kids more than Phoenix does.

Phoenix slapped and kicked Orton and was then laid out by an RKO. The show ended with referees, officials, and Natalya, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, R-Truth, and Rey Mysterio coming down to check on Phoenix.

Edge vs. Orton is set for WrestleMania 36 but hasn’t been officially announced yet. It will be Edge’s first singles match since he had to retire in 2011.
