SANTA MONICA, CA – A veteran teacher who was placed on”home assignment” after she described Trump aide Stephen Miller as a “loner” during his childhood has returned to teaching duties at Franklin Elementary in Santa Monica, it was reported Thursday.
Nikki Fiske, 72, had been placed on “home assignment” while school district officials determined whether she had violated rules against disclosing information about students, the Los Angeles Times reported. Although Miller is a product of the liberal enclave Santa Monica, the 33-year-old is credited for some of President Donald Trump’s most hard-line policies, including immigration.
Vanity Fair quoted an outside White House advisor as saying that “Stephen actually enjoys seeing those pictures at the border. … He’s a twisted guy, the way he was raised and picked on. There’s always been a way he’s gone about this. He’s Waffen-SS.”
Fiske recalled her time teaching third-grade Miller in a story published in the Hollywood Reporter. The teacher said Miller had “such strange personal habits” and even ate glue.
“He was a strange dude,” she said.
The teacher’s decision to reveal her former student’s oddities was widely denounced by both parties, who felt she was out of bounds to disclose a child’s behavior in that way – even though Miller is no longer a child, The Times reported. Others defended her, and she has a following as an educator.
However, at the end of the day, the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District allowed Fiske to keep her job.
