Possible Reason For WWE Crown Jewel Location Change, Becky Lynch On Super Show-Down

WWE announced that it is changing the location of its upcoming Crown Jewel event to a much smaller venue and the possible reason may have been revealed.

According to a report by NoDQ.com, the originally planned Fahd International Stadium is currently under construction, which means WWE had to change its plans. According to the report, two football matches have already been changed to the King Saud University Stadium as well for the exact same reason.

So far only two matches have been announced for Crown Jewel:

Universal Championship Match

– Roman Reigns (c) vs Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman

WWE Championship Match

– AJ Styles (c) vs Daniel Bryan

Becky Lynch On Super Show-Down Match

SmackDown Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch has commented on her match at Super Show-Down, simply putting that she came in the champion and left the same way, adding the #BooTheWoo.

—Jim Cornette made his way to commentary to a tremendous ovqtion as we’re ready to get things started at the Nashville Asylum.

— Live note: We are very nearly sold out. They opened the second balcony behind hard cam to accommodate more people. I’m really bad at estimating these kinds of things but I’d guess about 1,500 people.

(1) SAM SHAW def. SCORPIO SKY, COLT CABANA and SAMMY GUEVARA in a first round NWA National Heavyweight Championship tournament match.

Colt was over big time and got all the offense early on. They did a comedy spot where Colt removed Shaw’s creepy serial killer glove and slapped him in the face with it. He then slapped everyone else and got a bit too excited, almost slapping the referee. The ref took the glove and slapped Shaw for getting in his face. Shaw eliminated Colt Cabana with a powerbomb off the ropes to make everyone sad. Guevara did a shooting star to the floor and instantly became the most over guy in the match. Sky followed with a great tope con hilo. Lots of “SCU” chants. Sky eliminated Guevara with a Shining Wizard, but Shaw quickly hit him with a superkick and rolled him up to win the match.

A good opening match with some fun comedy bits and impressive spots. A little deflated by the finish, but the “NWA guy” got the win and they got serious heat on him, so that’s not terribly unexpected. The crowd was into everything.

Kevin Von Erich Stars In Commercial For Arkia Airlines

The last remaining Von Erich brother, Kevin Von Erich, is now starring in a commercial for Israel-based Arkia Airlines. The new spot is talking about Arkia’s new route to Thailand. In the commercial, the WWE Hall Of Famer says “when it comes to flying to Thailand, I’m world heavyweight champion of that too.” Von Erich is a former WCWA World Heavyweight Champion and recently wrestled with his sons Marshall & Ross Von Erich in Israel last year.

Iris Mittenaere et son danseur Anthony Colette réunis pour une soirée mode

Plusieurs personnalités de la dernière saison de Danse avec les stars étaient réunies à La Maison des centraliens, à Paris, ce jeudi 14 mars 2019. À l’occasion de la soirée de lancement de la nouvelle collection d’Iris Mittenaere pour la marque Morgan, l’ancienne Miss France et Miss Univers a pu compter sur le soutien de ses amis.

La finaliste de la saison 9 a ainsi retrouvé son partenaire de danse Anthony Colette lors de cette soirée mode. Terence Telle et Maxime Dereymez, la comédienne Patricia Contreras ainsi que l’ancien présentateur de l’émission Christophe Beaugrand étaient également présents. Particulièrement complice avec la reine de beauté, le duo s’est amusé à prendre la pose entre coupes de champagne et robes de soirée.

Quand elle ne pose pas pour des campagnes de mode, Iris Mittenaere se prépare activement pour son nouveau spectacle au Paradis Latin, mis en scène par Kamel Ouali et dans lequel elle se glisse dans la peau d’une meneuse de revue. Entre deux répétitions mariant danse, chant, paillettes et plumes, la jolie Lilloise de 26 ans a pu compter sur la présence du chorégraphe le temps d’une joyeuse soirée parisienne.

Canyon Ceman reportedly no longer with WWE

Less than a month after our website and others reported and retracted a story that Canyon Ceman was no longer with WWE, PW Insider reported Friday that the senior VP of talent development is no longer with the organization.

From our Dave Meltzer: “The only official response from WWE is that they have not heard that story. When the Ceman story broke some time ago and was denied, it was pretty much said by insiders at the company that the story was basically true, but it was then held up and would take time to play out.”

Ceman was hired by WWE in 2012 as senior director of talent relations and was later promoted to VP of talent development in 2015. He got his latest promotion in 2018 and was responsible for scouting and recruiting for WWE NXT and the developmental system altogether.

After a successful pro volleyball career, Ceman did some consulting before taking over as chief financial officer of the AVP volleyball league before it shut down. He then became an apprentice trader before joining WWE.

Backstage News on Why Bobby Lashley Turned Heel & How Involved Vince McMahon Has Been

As seen on this week’s episode of WWE Raw, Bobby Lashley and his new manager Lio Rush made a full heel turn – almost a double turn of sorts – by brutally assaulting Kevin Owens during, and after their match together. This was done as a means of writing Owens off television, as he is expected to be out of action for the remainder of 2018.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the call to finally turn Lashley heel didn’t actually come until Monday before Raw. There was reportedly a behind-the-scenes discussion about what would ultimately be better for him in the long run, and because of Owens being injured the decision was made to sure up the heel side for the Raw brand going forward.

Furthermore, Dave Meltzer’s report indicates that Vince McMahon himself was in the ear of Lio Rush for his promo on Raw this week, as the 205 Live superstar was wearing an earpiece that fed him lines directly from the boss.

Eddie Dennis On His Wrestling Idols, Joining The NXT UK Roster, Why People Should Watch On Wednesday, More

WWE NXT UK star, Eddie Dennis recently spoke with Give Me Sport about his career in wrestling so far and joining the NXT UK roster.

On his wrestling idols:

“When I was growing up, my favorites were your Stone Colds [Steve Austin] and your Shawn Michaels and people like that,” Dennis recalled. “As I got into pro wrestling, and you talk more about influences, then I probably got interested in independent wrestling and it was your Chris Heros, your Nigel McGuinness’ and people like that I took influences from as opposed to being just a fan.”

Joining the NXT UK roster:

“I left teaching in the July and I set myself targets to see where I was in the first 12 months to assess if this was a viable option. One of the big targets was to get a tryout with the WWE. I tried out in the November and William Regal ran my tryout, so I met Regal there and made my initial connection with the WWE, but was very much of the mindset that something regional to the UK would have to launch for me to have a real shot at being involved.”

Why fans should watch next week:

“I’d tell them [fans]to tune in on Wednesday and they’ll realise it’s a WWE level of production, but it’s got a distinctly British feel to it. It’s almost entirely British talent – we’ve got a couple of international talents – but its very much got a British flavour to it but that WWE sheen and polish on the top of it. So, if you’re a fan of British wrestling, there’s no way you’re not going to blown away by what you see on Wednesday and hopefully, it’s going to open a bunch of other peoples eyes who weren’t aware of how terrific the British wrestling scene is.”

His injury:

“But then in January, I ruptured my pectoral muscle, so I couldn’t wrestle for six months,” Dennis explained. “During my road to recovery is when the WWE contacted me about the formation of NXT UK and being apart of that and that’s why when the second UK tournament came along, I was under the employment of the WWE but I still wasn’t cleared to wrestle.”

WATCH: John Oliver Criticizes WWE for Saudi Arabian Propaganda; Says John Cena “Can’t See” Human Rights Abuses

This week’s episode of HBO’s Last Week Tonight with comedian and political pundit John Oliver covers the ongoing controversy surrounding Saudi Arabia, the alleged assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and in particular the United States’ shady history with the kingdom.

“How is this related to professional wrestling?” – you might ask?

At the seven-minute mark, Oliver brings up the extremely lucrative relationship between Saudi Arabia and the WWE, criticizing the company for producing numerous propaganda pieces for the government earlier this year at The Greatest Royal Rumble.

For instance, one of the major changes WWE and its superstars kept pushing were that women were given the legal right to drive, which Oliver breaks down including several instance of women being arrested who protested for that very same right. He also showed several clips from the Greatest Royal Rumble, including commentary praising the crown prince for his new progressive stances, as well as 16-time world champion John Cena personally thanking the Saudi government.

Oliver also criticizes WWE officials for returning to Saudi Arabia for the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel event on Nov. 2nd, joking that John Cena “can’t see” the nation’s human rights abuses.
