With only one hour to go until the Kickoff Show wraps up and the actual pay-per-view broadcast begins, the “smart money” has started to come in on matches scheduled for tonight’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view.
According to the latest odds at 5Dimes.eu, which have widened to the point that the obvious smart money from those “in the know” has come in. Nine times out of ten these are generally as good as spoilers, however particularly with bigger events such as the “big four pay-per-views,” WWE has been purposely putting out at least one or two wrong match outcomes to certain management figures in an attempt to either find the leak or at least provide a demonstration to fans that no matter how wide apart the lines get the closer the show gets, there are still some that are always wrong. The idea is that the gambler would have no way of knowing which match, or couple of matches, are the “decoys,” so to speak.
Regardless, when it comes to the odds, the numbers generally speak for themselves. Take a glance at the “smart money” odds for tonight’s Survivor Series below for an idea of what the word being passed around the WWE management staff is regarding the outcomes for tonight’s matches. One good example are the lines for Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg, as just two hours ago Lesnar was nearly a 4-to-1 favorite, which is around what he has been all week long on online betting websites. Now that the “smart money” is in, Goldberg is not only a favorite now, but a significant one, as he is currently listed as more than a 10-to-1 betting favorite against “The Beast Incarnate.”
Brock Lesnar (+550) vs. Bill Goldberg (-1050)
Men’s Traditional 5-on-5 Elimination Match
– Team RAW (+775) vs. Team SmackDown LIVE (-1625)
Women’s Traditional 5-on-5 Elimination Match
– Team RAW (-1125) vs. Team SmackDown LIVE (+575)
Tag-Team Traditional 10-on-10 Elimination Match
– Team RAW (-1275) vs. Team SmackDown LIVE (+625)
WWE Intercontinental Championship
– The Miz (-1700) vs. Sami Zayn (+800)
WWE Cruiserweight Championship
(Cruiserweight Division On The Line)
– Brian Kendrick (-1200) vs. Kalisto (+600)
NOTE: For comparison sake, just a couple of hours ago on the same website (5Dimes.eu), these were the current odds for the same matches. Any drastic changes from the numbers seen below to those listed above, particularly giant swings from underdog to favorite, or vice-versa (as opposed to slight/medium favorite to enormous favorite) would indicate the “smart money” being placed by those on the inside, or someone betting on their behalf.
Brock Lesnar -400 vs. Goldberg +280
RAW Vs. SmackDown 5-on-5 Mens’ Elimination Match
Team Smackdown -260 vs. Team Raw +180
