Last night’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw drew a 2.08 rating, a drop back from the surprising 2.21 rating last week and down from the 2.14 rating the week before. The 2.08 is still above the 10 week rolling average, which was 1.99 headed into this week’s show. It’s also ahead of the fall season average of 1.99.
The third hour returned to larger drop-off more typical of Raw, compared to the strong third hour last week. Hourlies: 3.153 million first hour, 2.981 second hour, 2.796 third hour. Last week’s show began at 3.163 million in the first hour, only 10 more viewers than this week, but ended with 243,000 more viewers than this week’s third hour average.
Keller’s Analysis: I wonder if WWE would have benefited from hyping the Charlotte-Ric Flair segment better. They didn’t mention it until over 20 minutes into the second hour, and by then they had already lost around 172,000 viewers compared to the first hour average. If that is what held the audience last week, it made sense to push it more. Perhaps the absence of advertising Sasha Banks overtly for the final segment hurt, also. But it’s more a case of things returning to normal than anything to be alarmed about. This is the third week in a row the live viewership rating was above 2.0, the first time that’s happened this season. Each of the hourly viewership numbers were very close to the previous four week average.
Ahead of the show airing on the WWE Network later this month, the card has been revealed for EVOLVE’s 10th Anniversary Celebration.

The EVOLVE/Dragon Gate USA anniversary event will be the first non-WWE wrestling show to air live on the WWE Network. It’s taking place at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13 and will go head-to-head with AEW Fight for the Fallen.
WWE’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view is being held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on July 14.

PWTorch has learned that FloSports has filed a lawsuit against WWN, which is the parent company of EVOLVE, FIP, Style Battle, Shine, and ACW. The lawsuit was filed on Sept. 15 in Travis County, Texas. PWTorch has obtained a copy of the lawsuit, which states that WWN misrepresented financial data from the events it was putting on in terms of iPPV and VOD buys. As a result of the misrepresentation of data, FloSlam claims they were induced into paying WWN hundreds of thousands of dollars.
You can view a PDF of the lawsuit here: D-1-GN-17-005152 PETITION
FloSports contends in the lawsuit filed that when they asked WWN for spreadsheets to back up their claims on their iPPV and VOD buyrates, that they were told that the data was lost. WWN eventually sent FloSlam the data requested, but FloSlam contends in the lawsuit that was filed that subscribers were listed more than once and DVD purchasers were included, which should not have been factored in with iPPV and VOD purchases.
In the lawsuit filed in Travis County, Tex., Floslam is seeking damages of 1 million dollars from WWN. The causes of action are listed as breach of contract and negligent misrepresentation.
PWTorch reached out to FloSports SVP and General Counsel Paul Hurdlow prior to obtaining a copy of the lawsuit. Hurdlow said that FloSports’s position would be made clear in the lawsuit. Hudlow did tell PWTorch that the hope from FloSports perspective is that lawyers from both sides can continue to work together and reach an agreement out of court. PWTorch tried to follow up with Hurdlow again and was referred to FloSport’s PR agency for further comment
WWN owner Sal Hamaoui was contacted by PWTorch for comment on the lawsuit, but he had no comment at the time and told PWTorch to contact his lawyer, Sam Heller for further comment on FloSlam’s lawsuit against WWN. At this time, Heller does not have an official statement on behalf of WWN, but this story will be updated once an official statement is made.
PWTorch reached out to multiple WWN sources for comment on the story. One source noted that WWN says the lawsuit is seen as a scare tactic from FloSports to get out of a legally binding contract. The source noted that WWN is planning on counter suing on multiple accounts. Another source told PWTorch that WWN is currently in negotiations to end their current agreement with FloSports early.
Radican’s Analysis: It’s going to be interesting to see how this lawsuit plays out over the next several months. It will definitely be an awkward weekend when FloSlam and WWN personel come together for the EVOLVE iPPVs this weekend. I can see why FloSports would be upset if their subscriptions numbers didn’t correlate with the numbers WWN gave them for their VODs and iPPVs before they entered into an agreement, but in my mind it’s not a perfect comparison when you compare one live buy to one FloSlam subscription.
FloSlam hasn’t done a good job of promoting EVOLVE or any of their other featured indies since Jeremy Botter was fired late last year. Both sides haven’t seemed happy with their arrangement for a long time, but this lawsuit is a surprise.
FloSports’s seemed to want to settle this matter out of court and continue to work together based on my conversation with Hurdlow on the phone earlier today. On the other hand at this point, WWN sources seemed more contentious today and are planning on counter suing FloSports and are currently working on reaching an agreement to get out of their long-term deal with FloSlam.
There’s a lot more to this story that hasn’t come out yet. EVOLVE was a hot brand when they signed with FloSports, but since that time, it has become clear that the relationship between WWN and WWE has cooled off, as WWE no longer promotes them on social media or their website. Other factors have played into EVOLVE cooling off as well, but promotions like Progress and ICW are clearly benefiting from WWE at this time via talent sharing and promotional benefits as well. This story will be updated as it develops.
The confrontation between Iran and the United States is expected to escalate on Thursday as Iran warned it is ready to violate its commitments to the 2015 nuclear deal for the first time.
Iran has said it will accumulate enough low-enriched uranium to breach the 300 kilogram limit set in the 2015 nuclear deal unless European countries find a way to help it side-step US sanctions.
It said earlier this month that it expects to reach that level on Thursday.
Majid Takht Ravanchi, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, told the Security Council on Wednesday evening that US actions had "rendered the JCPOA almost fully ineffective, and that "Iran alone cannot, shall not and will not take all of the burdens" to preserve it.
The deadline comes after the two country’s leaders both promised they would not back down in a confrontation that has led them to the brink of war.

On Wednesday Donald Trump outlined his plans for a potential military strike on the Islamic Republic, saying any conflict would be short lived and would not involve ground troops.
Asked if a war was brewing, he said in an interview on Fox: "I hope we don’t but we’re in a very strong position if something should happen."
"I’m not talking boots on the ground … I’m just saying if something would happen, it wouldn’t last very long."
Hours earlier, Iran’s supreme leader said his country would not bow to US pressure.
In his first public comments since he was placed under US sanctions by Mr Trump, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Iran “would not give up” in the face of US sanctions which have caused a dramatic economic slowdown in the country over the past year.
"The graceful Iranian nation has been accused and insulted by the world’s most vicious regime, the US, which is a source of wars, conflicts and plunder. The Iranian nation won’t give up over such insults," he said in a speech to a crowd in Tehran.

Ayatollah Khamenei, who is Iran’s head of state and wields ultimate control over defence and foreign policy, was placed under US treasury sanctions on Monday.
Mr Trump pulled the United States out of an agreement with Britain, France, Germany, Russia, China, and the EU that offered Iran sanctions relief in exchange for limiting its nuclear program last year.
He has imposed punishing sanctions in bid to force Tehran to accept a more restrictive deal.
Iran has responded by threatening to abandon some of its own obligations under the agreement unless European signatories find a way to help it access the economic benefits it was promised.
It initially set a July 7 deadline, but then said it had brought forward its plans breach the uranium stockpile limit to June 27.
The diplomatic crisis lurched towards war last week after the US and UK blamed Iran for attacking oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and Iran shot down a US surveillance drone.

Britain, France, and Germany are expected to announce the launch of a financial mechanism designed to help European companies trade with Iran without facing US sanctions on Friday.
The financial vehicle, known as INSTEX, has been in preparation for nearly six months. European diplomats flew to Tehran last week for three days of talks on the technical details.
It was unclear on Wednesday whether making it operational will be enough to persuade Iran not to breach its nuclear deal commitments.
The remaining members of the nuclear deal will also meet in Vienna on Friday to discuss the implications of an Iranian violation of its obligations.
The president of Iraq warned on Wednesday that he would not allow his country to become a theatre in a US-Iranian proxy war.
Bahim Salih said he had warned both the US and its allies and Iran that Iraq would not allow its territory to be used to attack the other side. "We are asking everybody to cool it down," Mr Salih said in a speech in London.
"Enough is enough. We cannot afford another war, and we are not shy about saying so because we have tried it before. You start a war and it is very difficult to end it."
Iraq is home to both US military bases and powerful Iranian-backed militia groups. US officials have blamed Iranian proxies for a string of mortar and rocket attacks on US facilities there in recent weeks.
A crowded field of Democrats slogged it out in the first round of debates designed to help whittle down the presidential candidates to face Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
Front-runner Joe Biden faced darling of the Left Bernie Sander in Thursday’s debate after hotly-tipped Elizabeth Warren took most of the limelight on Wednesday. Here are the main takeaways:
Dems won’t hold back against Biden
When you are the front-runner you have a target on your back and Joe Biden has been ahead in the race for the Democratic 2020 nomination for more than two years now.
During the first debate his name was largely absent. But on night two, with the former US vice president on stage, his rivals showed no…

A British woman investigating plastic pollution in the ocean has drowned after her yacht was hit by huge waves during a storm off the coast of South Africa.
Sara King, 34, was heading to Madagascar to research sea-borne microplastics in collaboration with the University of Birmingham when her 48 ft catamaran started to take on water during bad weather.
The stricken vessel was spotted by a container ship, and its medical crew, which attempted to resuscitate her, declared her dead on the scene.
She was travelling with her boyfriend, James Ellsworth, 31, as well as friend, Jason Baker, 31, and her dog, who all survived.
Posting on Facebook as she set off from the port of East London on Friday, Ms King wrote, “Follow us as we document and research the extent of marine litter along our entire passage, oh and with our boat dog in tow and foulies at the ready!"
In one of her last Instagram posts, she wrote, “Winds up – Sails out. The highs and lows make you scream – Wild Coast; you magnificent beast.”

The boat’s crew ran into stormy conditions on Monday afternoon. Ms King is thought to have become trapped in the yacht as it started to sink 240 miles from South Africa’s east coast.
The country’s National Sea Rescue Institute said that the crew were hit by “a severe storm and massive surf” at around 3pm on Monday. It sent a vessel to bring the surviving crew and Ms King’s body back to Durban.
In her final Instagram post, she wrote: “Back out on the open ocean we go, next stop: Madagascar.”
Ms King, from Devon, had a zoology degree, and was a PADI diver. She co-founded Evolve Abroad, a South African organisation facilitating placements overseas and had worked on marine conservation projects in Madagascar, Honduras and Fiji. She lived in Cape Town.
A former colleague described her online as “a great motivator, with the ability to inject a sense of fun into the most unlikely of activities.”
