This year PlusLiga is running with the speed of light. Two rounds are played in one single week. “There is no time to enjoy the victories” – said Radoslaw Panas, smiling.
His team, Politechnika Warszawa is one of the few who made some suprises to their fans. Despite two defeats (with Zaks and Czestochowa), they managed to overcome Delecta Bydgoszcz and get another three points. Warszawa is probbably the team with the best service in polish league. Players of Fart Kielce may also be satisfied. This is a new team in the league, but after four rounds they were only one place lower than the actual Polish champions, Skra Belchatow. Players from Kielce are positively aggressive and they have no complexes in the fight against the favored teams.
AZS Olsztyn is playing below expectations. Mariusz Sordyl’s team loses theoretically easier matches, and it is the wrong message for their fans, because Olsztyn has a few hard meetings ahead. Last game of Pamapol Wieluń seemed to be a test for coach of AZS. In case of failure, Sordyl may be released from the club. Apparently it was a strong motivation, because Olsztyn won all three points and gave more hope for a good quality in the rest of the season.
Bydgoszcz fans have no reason to happienes. Their team lost another two matches, although they were expexted to show something more and something better against Warszawa and Wielun. Waldemar Wspanialy and his players won the match in third round (with AZS Olsztyn), but after five games they collected only 5 points – it is not satisfied for the owners of the club, who promised to fight for the first six of the table.
In the last week we have seen a hard-fought and controversial meeting. Both Jastrzebski Wegiel and Zaksa Kedzierzyn Kozle lost their matches 2:3 (JW with Asseco Resovia and Zaksa in the “match of the round” with Skra Belchatow). In the final actions of those matches, the main refrees took wrong wrong decisions, which decided about results. Disappointed players did not hide their madness. After those matches, in Poland began a discussion on video replays which could help referees and would allow a change of uncertain decisions. This will definitely help in maintaining calm on the court and preserving justice. The question is: who is going to pay for this expensive experiment? The owners of the rich clubs proposed financial support, but it is known that not all can afford it. This debate is still in progress.
Sebastian Swiderski, Mitja Gasparini, Michal Kubiak, Krzysztof Ignaczak.. These players are the strong points in their teams. Sebastian Swiderski won the MVP three times already. Similarly, Michal Kubiak, reciever of Politechnika. Young Kubiak has killing service, and his attacks are the mostly effective. Gasparini and Divis are the new players of Jastrzebski Wegiel. Gasparini just replaced the injured Igor Yudin and together with Divis helped their colleagues to get three point in taugh meeting against Kedzierzyn Kozle.
