L’humoriste et imitateur Laurent Gerra a une nouvelle fois fait un trait d’humour sur l’âge de Brigitte Macron sur les ondes de RTL. En se servant du malheureux Stéphane Bern…

Le couple Macron semble inspirer Laurent Gerra. A l’instar d’autres humoristes, Laurent Gerra s’intéresse de près à la première dame Brigitte Macron et ses 64 ans avec des blagues osées. En mai dernier, l’humoriste avait mis en scène un jeune Emmanuel Macron pour un hommage à L’École des fans de Jacques Martin, avant de lui demander s’il avait une copine à l’école. Un sketch qui revenait sans détours sur la rencontre au lycée entre l’adolescent de 16 ans et sa future épouse, de 24 ans son aînée et alors professeur de lettres. Laurent Gerra avait assuré que le président de la République avait de l’humour. Il continue sur sa lancée.

Ce mercredi, Laurent Gerra est revenu plus en forme que jamais pour s’attaquer à nouveau à la Première Dame sur l’antenne de RTL. Avec les Journées européennes du patrimoine en toile de fond, l’imitateur a prix la voix de Stéphane Bern pour réaliser une scène comique où Brigitte Macron décroche son téléphone. « Je vous appelle dans le cadre de la mission bénévole que m’a confiée le Président en faveur des monuments en péril » indique Laurent Gerra dans la peau de celui qui est devenu chargé de mission présidentiel. « Rhooo, dites donc Stéphane, ce n’est pas très gentil de m’appeler pour ça !Moi qui croyais que vous étiez un garçon distingué” répond Brigitte Macron, imité par l’humoriste faussement offusqué. »Mais je ne parle pas de vous, Brigitte, voyons ! Mais grâce à Philae, j’ai pu retrouver tous vos ancêtres, les Trogneux (…) Brigitte, c’est un Trogneux qui a peint la grotte de Lascaux” lui répond Stéphane Bern, alors qu’on imagine le grand sourire de Laurent Gerra derrière son micro.

Mais le président de la République ne semble pas en vouloir aux humoristes. “J’ai croisé Emmanuel Macron qui était plutôt sympa, rieur. Il a de l’humour. Ce qui n’est pas le cas de Marine Le Pen, qui est plus tendue… Elle n’est pas la meilleure auditrice ! Mais je n’en ai pas croisé tant que ça. J’aurais apprécié de voir Jean Lassalle! », confiait Laurent Gerra à TV Mag.

En juin dernier, l’humoriste avait une nouvelle fois raillé le couple présidentiel, profitant de l’arrivée de la première ministre anglaise Theresa May à Paris pour transformer cette visite officielle en rencontre amoureuse avec Emmanuel Macron. Le sketch inventait une jalousie fictive de l’épouse du président de la République, sous-entendant que le chef de l’État en pinçait pour la responsable politique britannique âgée de 60 ans.

Laurent Gerra n’est pas le seul à travailler sur le locataire de l’Elysée. Alex Vizorek, Anne Roumanoff, Régis Mailhot, Bernard Mabille… Comme après chaque élection présidentielle, les humoristes ont du travail… pour 5 ans.

Bref, bientôt le film ? Au moment de l’arrêt de la série sur Canal+, la piste d’un long métrage avait été sérieusement évoquée. Où en est ce projet ?

A l’occasion de la sortie de Lou ! Journal Infime, dans lequel il tient son premier grand rôle au cinéma, nous avons posé quelques questions à Kyan Khojandi, comédien et co-créateur du format court à succès. Nous vous proposons de découvrir un extrait de sa réponse en vidéo, ci-dessus, dans notre dernier épisode de notre émssion “Tueurs en séries”.

AlloCiné : Le projet d’un film Bref est-il toujours évoqué ?

Kyan Khojandi : Le projet est toujours évoqué. Il est évoqué dans cette interview même !

Est-ce à l’état d’idée ? Y a-t-il un projet concret ?

On a avancé sur le scénario, la philosophie est la même. Pendant un an, j’ai pris beaucoup de temps pour moi, ma famille. J’ai passé énormément de temps avec ma famille. L’aventure Bref était super, le meilleur truc qui soit arrivé dans ma vie quasiment. Après, j’ai pris du temps pour moi, pour avoir des choses à raconter, vivre. Faut pas oublier de vivre. Et là du coup j’ai plein de trucs à dire et je suis super content. Et pour répondre à votre question, on y travaille. Si c’est à la hauteur de ce qu’on veut faire, chant-mé on le fera. Sinon on ne le fera pas. 

Bref pourrait-il aussi revenir dans un format série ?

Si je réponds à cette question, ça veut dire que j’ai fini mon travail et ce n’est pas le cas. Je ne sais pas encore. J’aimerais. C’est un vrai challenge. On nous a posé la même question quand on a montré un épisode. On nous a dit : comment vous voulez en faire une série ? Bah on va faire des histoires avec des personnages. On nous réondait : ouais, c’est bon, c’est un peu rapide, comment tu peux raconter toute une histoire… Et en fait j’ai l’impression qu’on a réussi à fidéliser les personnages, l’évolution du personnage principal, etc. C’est un nouveau challenge ! J’aime bien faire les trucs que je ne sais pas faire. Et pour le coup c’est un truc que je ne sais pas faire. Donc j’apprends.

Nous avons également profité de cette rencontre avec Kyan Khojandi pour en savoir plus sur ses projets en tant que comédien. Outre “Lou”, à l’affiche depuis mercredi, il sera prochainement à l’affiche de Nos Futurs, le nouveau film de Rémi Bezançon (Ma vie en l’air, Le premier jour du reste de ta vie), qu’il tourne en ce moment. Un film qu’il prend “énormément de plaisir à faire” nous a-t-il confié. “Le film est super bien écrit et Rémi Bezançon est une référence pour moi“.

Il apparaitra également dans le premier long métrage de son compère Kheiron dont nous vous parlions au début de l’été. “C’est super bien écrit. C’est une révélation pour mon pote. Je ne l’imaginais aps aussi bon dialoguiste. Scénariste, très bon, mais dialoguiste, c’est super.”

Ce lundi 16 octobre, Kate Middleton a fait une seconde apparition officielle depuis l’annonce de sa grossesse. En gare de Paddington à Londres, la jeune maman, qui attend son troisième enfant, a tenu a accompagner son mari le prince William d’Angleterre lors une matinée consacrée aux enfants.

Les apparitions de Kate Middleton se font très rares. Particulièrement affaiblie, la jeune femme enceinte de son troisième enfant, doit rester chez elle pour se reposer. Impossible pour elle d’accompagner son mari dans tous ses déplacements, et saluer chaleureusement le peuple britannique.

En début du mois d’octobre, la duchesse de Cambridge avait néanmoins réussi à faire une apparition officielle depuis l’annonce de sa grossesse. La jeune femme avait participé à une réception à Buckingham Palace afin de célébrer la journée mondiale de la santé mentale. La jeune maman, qui souffre toujours de fortes nausées, était apparue rayonnante dans une jolie robe bleue au bras de son mari, le prince William d’Angleterre.

Et ce lundi 16 octobre, surprise, Kate Middleton a fait une nouvelle apparition. La jeune maman était présente aux cotés de son mari et de son frère le prince Harry d’Angleterre pour une matinée consacrée aux enfants dans la station de Paddington à Londres. Rayonnante, la jeune maman est apparue tout sourire dans une jolie robe rose signée Orla Kiely. Kate Middleton a même profité de la présence du gros nounours Paddington pour faire quelques pas de danse.

A sa première apparition en début du mois d’octobre, la duchesse de Cambridge portait une robe bleue, ce qui avait poussé certains britanniques à croire que le nouveau-né pourrait être un garçon. Mais avec ce nouveau choix de robe, impossible de connaître aujourd’hui le sexe du bébé à venir.

Jean d’Ormesson est décédé à l’âge de 92 ans, laissant derrière lui un patrimoine littéraire hors norme. Sa fille Héloïse d’Ormesson, éditrice, a révélé ses derniers mots, écrits quelques jours avant sa mort, qui concluront son dernier ouvrage, publié à titre posthume.

Alors que se déroule aujourd’hui la cérémonie d’hommage national aux Invalides à Jean d’Ormesson, décédé dans la nuit de lundi 4 à mardi 5 décembre, sa fille Héloïse a dévoilé hier soir les derniers écrits de son père. Invitée de l’émission La Grande Librairie, sur France 5, Héloïse d’Ormesson éditrice a révélé que son père avait bouclé son dernier ouvrage, quelques jours à peine avant sa mort. “Je savais qu’il écrivait un nouvel livre, je savais qu’il voulait me le confier. Mais ce que je ne savais pas c’est qu’il l’avait fini samedi“, explique-t-elle, la gorge nouée par l’émotion.

Incapable de lire les derniers mots de l’auteur de La gloire de l’Empire, Héloïse d’Ormesson a confié à François Busnel, présentateur de La Grande Librairie, la responsabilité de partager ces quelques phrases “pleines d’espoir”.

Visiblement ému, le journaliste a lu les derniers mots de l’académicien : “Une beauté pour toujours. Tout passe. Tout finit. Tout disparaît. Et moi qui m’imaginais devoir vivre pour toujours, qu’est-ce que je deviens ? Il n’est pas impossible… Mais que je sois passé sur et dans ce monde où vous avez vécu est une vérité et une beauté pour toujours et la mort elle-même ne peut rien contre moi “.

A film based on the novel and anime series Violet Evergarden is set for release in China on Jan 10, 2020, according to the film’s official Sina Weibo account.

The movie, titled Violet Evergarden Gaiden: Eien to Jido Shuki Ningyo, which literally means Violet Evergarden Story: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll, premiered in Japan on Sept 6, 2019, and was the first film released by Kyoto Animation Co., Ltd. since a deadly July 2019 arson attack on one of its studios.

Directed by the show’s series director Haruka Fujita, the film follows the titular character as she continues her quest to learn the meaning of love by working as an auto memory doll.

A Chinese-subtitled trailer has been released for the film.

With the Beijing Winter Olympics just two years away, Chinese athletes spared no effort over the past 12 months to build momentum for a strong home performance in 2022.

Impressive results on the ice and snow suggest China’s hopes of qualifying for all 109 events at the Games and beating its previous best gold-medal haul (five in Vancouver 2010) may not be too ambitious after all.

Leading the charge is China’s traditionally strong short-track speed skating team, which has contributed 10 out of 13 gold medals won by China since the country’s Winter Olympics debut in 1980 at Lake Placid, New York.

Led by a reshuffled coaching staff overseen by four-time Olympic champion skater Wang Meng, China’s short-track squad has won eight gold, six silver and seven bronze medals at the past four legs (Salt Lake City, Montreal, Nagoya and Shanghai) on the International Skating Union’s 2019-20 World Cup series.

Wang, who won four golds at two Olympics (2006 and 2010), was appointed in May as manager of a merged national speed skating team consisting of the short-and long-track squads, which had previously been separate entities.

Wang’s arrival ended the 13-year tenure of her former coach Li Yan at the helm of the short-track team after the squad finished the 2018-19 season without a single gold at major events.

A group of international experts, including South Korea’s short-track specialist Kim Sun-tae, Canada’s former men’s short-track coach Derrick Campbell and long-track trainer Rutger Tijssen of the Netherlands, have been hired to assist Wang.

The resurgence of veterans Fan Kexin and Han Tianyu, who claimed golds in the women’s 500m and men’s 1000m respectively at the World Cup’s Shanghai stop last month, has proven the new coaching staff effective.

Having also won silver in the men’s 1500m in Shanghai, Han made a strong return to Olympic gold contention after taking a year off from skating to get married and start a family.

In figure skating, two-time world champion pair Sui Wenjing and Han Cong won their first ISU Grand Prix final with a high-difficulty routine in Turin, Italy, in early December, showing red-hot form on their quest to win a third world championship gold in Montreal in March.

Hampered by a foot injury to Sui, the Chinese pair had to settle for silver at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea behind Germany’s Bruno Massot and Aliona Savchenko.

The Chinese duo’s goal for Beijing 2022 is to top the podium and emulate retired husband-and-wife pair Zhao Hongbo and Shen Xue’s gold at the 2010 Games in Vancouver.

However, Zhao, now head coach of China’s figure skating team, is endeavoring to keep expectations in check.

“We are making progress, but we are far from becoming a major force in the world with our men’s, women’s and ice dancing skaters all struggling to catch up with the world’s best,” he said.

Compared to the ice events, China is still taking baby steps in the majority of snow sports-with the exceptions of freestyle skiing and snowboarding.

The snowboard halfpipe team and freeski aerials squad have maintained their competitiveness this season, highlighted by multiple podium finishes in the 2019-20 World Cup series.

Liu Jiayu and Cai Xuetong thrilled home fans by winning gold and silver respectively at the Chongli leg of the snowboard halfpipe World Cup series last month, while Xu Mengtao and Qi Guangpu claimed the women’s and men’s titles at the freeski aerials World Cup meet in Changchun on the same weekend.

Other notable breakthroughs for Chinese athletes last year included 20-year-old speed skater Ning Zhongyan’s victory in the long-track men’s 1500m at a World Cup event in Kazakhstan on Dec 8, and female bobsled pilot Ying Qing’s gold medal in the third race of the 2019-20 single-race monobob series in Germany on Dec 19.

Both wins were firsts for China in international competition.

Companies from home and abroad are tapping into the potential of the fragrance market in China, which is set to boom in the coming years, Wang Ying reports in Shanghai.

The retail value of China’s fragrance segment is projected to experience considerable annual growth and expand from $1.18 billion in 2018 to $1.81 billion in 2023, according to Euromonitor International, which noted that the market had surged 48.2 percent between 2014 and 2018.

“Following the boom in the skincare segment and the flurry of spending on makeup products, I believe the fragrance sector will experience the same in about five years,” says Lim Tzer Meng, managing director of perfume brand Reclassified.

Compared to skincare products and cosmetics, fragrance is a relatively small and slow-growing category as it is still considered a nonessential item by many Chinese consumers. However, the market value will continue to expand in the next five years, driven by a growing diversity in product offerings and consumers’ appetite for premium and niche fragrances, according to Alice Li, a senior research analyst with Mintel.

One of the key factors driving growth in the fragrances segment is the maturity of the domestic e-commerce industry. In fact, many international brands consider e-commerce as the first step into the Chinese market, says Kelly Tang, an analyst at Euromonitor International.

One example is British brand Jo Malone London which had launched its online flagship store on Tmall in 2018, selling perfumes, shower and body care products, as well as customized scents.

“Online channels provide companies with access to a larger consumer base and this helps them to gain more market penetration,” says Tang.

“The Chinese fragrance market is expected to continue experiencing dynamic growth, mainly driven by premium fragrance, which takes up about 80 percent of the total fragrance market in China.”

“There’s huge potential in the China market as consumers are still in the elementary stage of wearing fragrances. Awareness of personal grooming is also on the rise.”

Lim says the consumption power of Chinese consumers and the growing belief that wearing perfume is part of social etiquette will also give rise to the popularity of fragrances.

“Less than 1 percent of the Chinese population use fragrances daily. This is far below the levels in mature markets like the EU and US,” adds Lim.

Sales of fragrances for male and female consumers in China have been expanding. According to Euromonitor, between 2014 and 2018, the retail value of premium men’s and women’s fragrances soared 59.1 percent and 71.1 percent respectively. During the same period, the retail value of premium unisex fragrances skyrocketed to 532.5 percent.

The growing application of fragrance has also expanded to hotels, shopping malls and even workplaces as a brand signature, adds Lim. Some examples include luxury hotels like Westin, Shangri-La and the Ritz-Carlton, as well as malls like IAPM and K11.

China is a big land, with a huge variety of cultures, landscapes, cities, towns and villages. One of the pleasures of living here is getting to see a bit of it.

I recently had the opportunity to spend a few days in a small village of about 60 families in the mountainous rain forest in the far south of Yunnan province, about 40 kilometers from the city of Mohan, on the border with Laos.

The people of Hebian village in Mengla county of Yunnan, who are mostly from the Yao ethnic group, have greatly improved their lives over the past few years, through their own efforts and with the help of government programs, charities, and experts from China Agricultural University.

Just five or so years ago, Hebian had only 8 km of unpaved road for access. Villagers lived off subsistence farming, often depending on food found in the forest to supplement their diets. Children had to walk half a day to go to school.

Today, Hebian is a gorgeous venue for tourists who want to see the rainforest and for international conferences. The villagers have built, with the assistance of CAU, new houses, each with a guest room. The houses are architecturally interesting and comfortable－providing both a good place to live and a source of income for the villagers.

The land surrounding the village is a wonderland for hikers. Small roads and trails take you into stunning mountains and the fascinating rainforest. I wish I knew enough to recognize the hundreds of unique species of plants found in the forest. The village borders a highly-protected national forest and is in the national elephant protection zone, so protecting the environment is a key part of the village’s ongoing business strategy.

Hebian has come a long way. Several older men told me that the village had a terrible problem with illegal opium in the 1970s. Many families did not have enough to eat because addicts did not work enough. One older man said that his education had to stop in the fourth grade because his parents were drug addicts. But, with government help, the village was able to help its citizens escape drugs in the 1980s. Today, there is nothing like that.

A national program to build all-weather roads has improved the lives of villagers throughout these mountains. People in Hebian say that other villages in the area have also seen sharp improvements in their living standards after all-weather roads were built to them.

Since 2012, almost 100 million rural people in China, including the people of Hebian, have escaped deep poverty. Seeing Hebian today has helped me understand the real people behind this statistic.

Most foreign tourists who visit China usually see Beijing and Shanghai, sometimes Xi’an, and then think they’ve seen China. Even Chinese city-dwellers often only visit a handful of well-known beauty spots, which are usually crowded with visitors.

Many rural villages have built guesthouses and restaurants so that visitors can have an opportunity to enjoy rural life and get away from the cities. Of course, not all villages can attract tourists, but this is a good business model for many. This tourism has been made possible by the rising incomes in the country.

I’m not quite selfish enough to want to keep information about Hebian to myself, even though it was great not to be swamped by other visitors.

The village is a truly beautiful and interesting place with welcoming people. Hebian is an especially great place for meetings or events, such as academic conferences and summer camps for children. Like similar villages throughout China, the people of Hebian are using tourism to get out of poverty while maintaining the viability of rural life and protecting the environment.

A 3.6-billion-yuan ($514.29 million) grid project was officially completed and started operation in the southern Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region by the end of December, six months ahead of schedule.

The project’s completion indicates that all townships in the northwestern Chinese region are supplied with stable electricity, according to a statement released by the Kashgar Electricity Supply Company.

The grid project, which mainly benefits the four major prefectures of Kashgar, Hotan, Aksu and Kezilesu Kirgiz in the desert area of southern Xinjiang, is expected to play an important role in helping local counties and townships shake off poverty in the coming years.

Hu Zhengyu, deputy director of the Construction Department of Kashgar Electricity Supply Company, said the grid project has greatly improved power transmission and supply capacity in Xinjiang and is expected to play a big part in local economic construction.

Construction began about a year ago, he added.

Kadir Mamut, a farmer from the town of Teram village in Yengiostang of Yopurga county, said he uses the stable electricity supply to irrigate his crop fields.

In previous years, he had to use diesel oil to irrigate and that increased production costs, he said.

Gulqekra Ibrayimjan, who comes from Tashikurgan Tajik autonomous county, said she can now use a refrigerator and other household appliances.

She said she plans to buy a new oven to toast bread in the near future.

Although Peach Blossom and Laiwan have already tasted success in 2019, Wen is never one to rest on his laurels. For him, the culinary world is a lifelong journey and one must continuously seek to innovate and find ways to improve their culinary craft. This can only be music to the ears of food connoisseurs in Guangzhou.
