A l’occasion de la sortie du nouveau long métrage de Katia Lewkowicz “Tiens, toi droite”, l’équipe du film lance le Tumblr anti-sexisme et participatif #TiensToiDroite.

On a tous entendus ces petites phrases lancées l’air de rien « Tiens-toi droite », « Il faut souffrir pour être belle », « Souris »… Ce sont ces clichés sur la beauté, la féminité, la maternité que la réalisatrice Katia Lewkowicz a choisi de pointer du doigt dans son nouveau long métrage.

L’équipe du film a donc décidé de lancer le Tumblr féministe et participatif #TiensToiDroite. Le principe est simple : proposer aux internautes, femmes et hommes, de poser avec une affiche sur laquelle ils épinglent une phrase, une injonction ou une remarque sexiste qui les a marqués.

Les comédiennes Marina Foïs, Noémie Lvovsky et la réalisatrice Katia Lewkowicz ont déjà participé à ce Tumblr. C’est désormais à votre tour.

Le long métrage sort sur nos écrans le 26 novembre prochain.

C’est ainsi que nous avons appris qu’il s’agissait de Rory Farquharson, un étudiant britannique au parcours brillant.

Mais ce n’est pas tout. La presse d’outre-Manche vient tout juste de révéler que le jeune homme entretiendrait des liens avec la Couronne d’Angleterre. Du moins pas directement. Un des cousins de son père, Andrew Farquharson n’est autre qu’un ancien intendant de la reine Elizabeth II. Au service de Sa Majesté pendant dix années, l’homme est notamment en charge du quotidien de Buckingham Palace comme de la gestion du budget destiné à l’organisation des grandes réceptions. D’ailleurs si la reine achète aujourd’hui ses traditionnels Christmas Puddings chez Tesco, un groupe de grande distribution, plutôt que dans des enseignes de luxe comme Harrods ou Fortnum & Mason, c’est grâce à lui. En 2006, il quitte toutefois le palais royal pour la Clarence House, résidence londonienne du prince Charles avant de rejoindre le château d’Alnwick, dans le comté de Northumberland, en 2009. Un bras droit de la plus haute importance que la reine a fait membre de l’Ordre de Victoria.

The number of China’s “rich families”, whose net worth is more than 6 million yuan ($853,711), had reached 4.94 million as of Dec 31, 2018, up 60,000 from the previous year, according to the Hurun Wealth Report 2019 released in November.

As the country boasts an increasing number of rich families, it also shows a growing demand for high-end butler services, as per Beijing-based Vage Home, a pioneer in China’s housekeeping service industry.

Noting such a demand, Vega Home launched MeiYingHui (www.myhbutler.com), a website that provides professional butler services in major cities across China in Beijing Friday.

The launch of the website is considered as a brand upgrade of Vage’s high-end housekeeping service, following the publication of Chinese-style Butler, a textbook written by Zhang Ran, founder of Vage early this year.

BEIJING – The claim that foreign firms are leaving China in droves does not hold up as it is impossible for them to ignore the market, said an article published on the website of China’s top economic planner.

“Judgments need to be made based on statistics and facts,” said the article of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

Over 90 percent of more than 200 American companies operating in China reported profitable operations in 2019, the article said, citing the results of the 2019 Member Survey of the US-China Business Council.

Among the members, 87 percent did not move or planned to move any of operations out of China, while 83 percent made no decisions to reduce or stop planned investment in China in the past year, the survey showed.

The article argued that China made progress in major foreign investment projects in the past two years despite that cross-border investment had been at a low ebb, with US electric car maker Tesla Inc and German chemical giant BASF launching their projects in the country.

In the first three quarters, over 30,000 foreign-invested firms were newly established in China, while the actually utilized foreign investment in the country rose 6.5 percent year-on-year to reach 683.2 billion yuan ($98.14 billion).

China holds real appeal to foreign companies, “not only with its world-beating economic growth and impressive investment returns but also with advantages including talent base, manufacturing ecology, consumption upgrades, infrastructure and business environment,” the article said.

China bolsters a complete industrial system as the only country that possesses all the industrial categories according to the United Nations industrial classification, and new types of infrastructure are accelerating the country’s growth model shifts, the article said.

Convenient transportation and logistics networks can significantly lower the operating costs for foreign firms, it said. China’s high-speed railway mileage was nearly 30,000 km by end-2018, accounting for two-thirds of the world’s total, while its highway mileage topped 140,000 km to rank first globally.

“Eyeing the long run, more foreign firms will continue to invest and develop in China,” the article said.

RIO DE JANEIRO — West Ham United are preparing a formal bid to sign Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa, according to media reports in the South American country.

However the Hammers face competition from Flamengo, where he spent 2019 on loan from Inter Milan, as well as Premier League rivals Chelsea and Crystal Palace, O Globo reported.

It added that West Ham are willing to offer 17 million pounds ($23 million) to secure the 23-year-old on a long-term deal.

The figure trumps a proposal already submitted by Flamengo, who are expected to make an improved bid for the forward in the coming days.

Barbosa, who is nicknamed Gabigol, scored 43 goals in 59 matches across all competitions for Flamengo in 2019, helping the club to the Brazilian Serie A and Copa Libertadores titles.

His impressive season came after a prolific 12-month loan at Santos, where he netted 27 times in 53 matches.

Barbosa was considered one of the most promising young forwards in the world in 2016, when he joined Inter Milan for $30 million from Santos.

But he managed just one goal in 10 matches for the Italian club before an equally unsuccessful six-month loan spell at Benfica.

BEIJING – China’s banking regulator unveiled revised management regulations for foreign banks to advance opening up of the banking sector to a higher level and promote its high-quality development.

Foreign banks can establish branches and wholly foreign-owned banks at the same time on the Chinese mainland, according to the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission.

The requirement on total assets for foreign banks to establish business institutions in China was eliminated, and the selection range of the Chinese major shareholder of the Sino-foreign joint venture banks was widened.

The regulations delegated and adjusted parts of the approval authority regarding the qualifications of the directors and the senior management personnel in foreign banks and the opening of the branches.

Review requirements related to equity management, anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing were also added in the regulations.

BEIJING – A Jiangsu basketball fan was banned for life on Saturday due to repeated misconducts in Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) matches while Jiangsu Dragons head coach Memi Becirovic was handed a further one-match suspension for a clash with the fan.

Listed as a prohibited spectator by the league, Wang was banned for life from watching any CBA game inside the venue.

Becirovic, who had served an automatic one-match suspension on Friday after he and the fan were sent off after the altercation, cannot take charge of the team on Sunday. The Jiangsu club was also fined 50,000 yuan ($7,200).

Becirovic and the fan surnamed Wang clashed in Jiangsu’s home game against Liaoning Flying Leopards on Wednesday before being separated by players and staff with 5:36 left to play in the third quarter.

Following an investigation, the CBA league found that the fan had taken to abusive words and insulting gestures against the opponents, and then turned to Becirovic’s wife for abusive words when she was trying to stop him.

The fan was also found to have used abusive words against opponents inside an earlier CBA match against Tianjin Pioneers on November 8, 2019.

In a statement, the CBA league condemned Wang’s misconduct and called on all fans to set an example for youngsters and uphold the image of the league.

Meanwhile, the league said it will invite Becirovic’s wife and her family members to the CBA All-star Weekend in Guangzhou next weekend.

The 23-year-old keeper has been tipped as the long-term successor to Manuel Neuer for country and now club, and will join at the end of the season

Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of Schalke goalkeeper Alexander Nubel on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old, tipped as the long-term successor to Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, will join when his Schalke contract expires at the end of the 2019-20 season.

Nubel has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at the Bundesliga champions, officially moving to the Allianz Arena on July 1.

Bayern travel to Doha for a training camp on Saturday, with sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic teasing before the flight: “We will make an announcement when the time comes.”

Nubel has enjoyed a rapid rise at Schalke after making his Bundesliga debut as a 19-year-old.

While he only made a couple of first-team appearances in his first three years, during the 2018-19 season he was installed as number one by Domenico Tedesco, replacing long-term custodian Ralf Fahrmann between the posts.

At the beginning of this season, new manager David Wagner appointed Nubel as club captain, at just 22 and with only 20 Bundesliga appearances to his name – evidence of the high regard the youngster is held in at the club.

However, Schalke announced in December that he would not be renewing his contract before it expired at the end of the current season, and he has now stepped down from the captaincy.

He is currently serving a four-match suspension for a horrendous foul on Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Mijat Gacinovic.

Some leading figures in German football had warned Nubel away from the well-beaten track to Bayern, with the youngster now facing a huge battle to dislodge Neuer – who signed from Schalke himself in 2011 – from the starting XI.

Recent reports from the German press have suggested Neuer himself isn’t overly pleased with the transfer.

It has been said Bayern will rotate between the two goalkeepers to ensure Nubel’s development doesn’t stagnate, but Neuer reportedly has no desire to step aside and will fight for his place.

That Bayern would look to replace Neuer at all seems somewhat surprising given their strong stance on his place within the German national team.

The Bundesliga giants had threatened to withdraw their players from Joachim Low’s squad if Neuer was dropped for Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen, though Neuer recently said reports of a rift between the pair had been overblown in the media.

The training camp will be moved because of the developing situation in the region

U.S Soccer has cancelled the USMNT camp in Qatar after tension in the Middle East region increased following the death of Iranian general Qasem Suleimani.

A US-led drone strike killed the Iran politician in Iraq on Thursday with fears that Americans will be targeted in the Middle East region as retaliation.

The U.S football governing body decided to scrap the camp on Friday, releasing a statement through their official media channels.

“Due to the developing situation in the region, U.S. Soccer has decided to postpone traveling to Qatar for the Men’s National Team’s scheduled January training camp,” the U.S Soccer statement read.

“In the meantime, we are working on alternative arrangements in preparation for the match against Costa Rica on February 1 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.

“We are working with the Qatar Football Association to find an opportunity in the near future for our team to experience Qatar’s world-class facilities and hospitality.”

There is no official threat to Americans in the Middle East but the situation could change rapidly as the U.S and Iran continue to have conflict.

USMNT had planned to use the Aspire Academy training facility in Doha from January 5-25 with the 23 US-based footballers and two foreign-located players expected to attend the camp.

It will now be held somewhere in the U.S, with the location yet to be determined by the federation.

The camp will likely commence after the planned January 5 start date with some staff and equipment already being sent to Qatar for the initial event.

It will serve as preparation for the USMNT’s friendly against Costa Rica in Southern California on February 1.

The USMNT also have an exhibition match scheduled against UEFA Nations League finalist the Netherlands on March 26 in Eindhoven.

Having missed qualification to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the USMNT are looking to build to make sure they are involved in Qatar 2022.

However, they were beaten 1-0 by Mexico in the 2019 Gold Cup final and only just squeezed through the Concacaf Nations League group following a 2-0 defeat to Canada.

The Norwegian was accused of being too nice to sit on the bench at Old Trafford, a claim that he does not share

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brushed off criticism received from Robin van Persie in the wake of his side’s reverse at the hands of Arsenal. 

The Reds went down 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on New Year’s Day, with goals from Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis ensuring a rotten afternoon for the visitors. 

Defeat means United remain some distance behind Chelsea and the final Champions League qualifying spot, currently trailing the Blues by five points; and it also invited some strong words from former Arsenal and United man Van Persie. 

“When I listen to Ole, he sounds like a really nice guy,” the Dutchman told BT Sport following Wednesday’s game.

“I would like to see him a bit more mean at times, just be angry.

“I see him smiling now after a game like that. This is not the moment to smile.”

Solskjaer, however, gave short shrift to the former forward, suggesting he was not familiar with his managerial methods. 

“I don’t know Robin and Robin doesn’t know me,” Solskjaer told reporters on Friday.

“He probably doesn’t have a right to criticise my management style and I won’t change. That’s definite.”

Van Persie inherited Solskjaer’s No. 20 shirt at Old Trafford upon joining in 2012, but the Norwegian is no mood to yield anything else to the former player.

“He took my No. 20 and that’s probably all he’s going to take from me as well,” he added,

“I’m not in medieval times.”

Wednesday’s setback came off the back of a run of more positive form for Solskjaer’s men, with five wins, three draws and just one defeat between November 2’s loss to Bournemouth and their New Year’s woes seeing United leave mid-table behind and close the gap on fourth place. 

Now, they will turn their attentions to the FA Cup, where a daunting all-Premier League clash awaits. 

Molineux will host Saturday’s third-round clash between the Reds and Wolves, who sit just one point behind United as they seek an historic Champions League qualification themselves. 

Premier League duties then resume on January 10, with bottom side Norwich City set to visit Old Trafford.
