Britney Spears’s 55-Hour Husband Wishes He Hadn’t Been a “Nice Guy”

When They Peaked: Jan. 3, 2004 — their wedding night. Their downfall came 55-hours later, when the marriage was annulled.

The Breakup: Years post-Britney, Jason did what all great celebrity exes do, and shared his side of the story with a major broadcast network.

First, he created some additional damage by implying that he and Britney had been friends with benefits while she was dating Justin Timberlake (is Jason Alexander the reason J.T. wants Britney to cry him a river??). “There was an instance when [Britney and I] were hanging out,” Alexander told ABC News. “He had called, and I was … kicking it with her, kind of like the guy ‘behind the scenes’ no one knew about.”

Alexander also revealed that he and Spears “had party favors” ahead of their spur of the moment nuptials, though he played coy concerning the nature of said “favors.” “Alcohol is a drug. Coffee is a drug. Cigarette is a drug. Yeah, we were doing drugs,” he teased.

Despite the, uh, influences involved, Jason says he was “in love with [Britney]” at the time and thought she “felt the same way.”

Once Brit’s team caught wind of the marriage, they paid a visit to Sin City and worked to quickly annul the union.

The papers pin the decision on Spears, explaining that she “lacked understanding of her actions to the extent that she was incapable of agreeing to the marriage.”

Alexander says this reasoning is “bulls—t.” He signed out of deference to his bride, but hoped they’d get back together. He now regrets that decision, advising those in similar situations to not be a “nice guy.” “Don’t be a nice guy because nice guys finish last,” he said with conviction. “Make sure you’re thinking business.”

Months after dissolving their marriage, Britney told E! the whole situation was really just “silly.”

“It was me being silly, being rebellious, and not really taking the responsibility of what I was doing, you know?” she explained. “And after partying, you know, you really don’t think about what you’re doing. So it was one of those things that were really silly.”

Where They Are Now:

Less than a year after the Vegas fiasco, Spears did another silly thing: she wed amateur rapper Kevin Federline (this time in an actual wedding gown). Two years and two sons (Sean, 13, Jayden, 12) later, the “Stronger” singer filed for divorce.

She’s been dating her personal trainer boyfriend Sam Asghari for over two years now.

Professionally, well … it’s Britney, bitch.

Alexander tried to cash in on his fleeting notoriety, but judging by the fact that his name is rarely mentioned without the parenthetical “not of Seinfeld fame,” we’d say he didn’t quite get there.

In 2015 he spent nearly four months in prison on domestic abuse charges.

Good call on that annulment, Brit.

Why Kim Kardashian Needs a Surrogate to Have Her Fourth Child

Kardashian has been open about her health struggles, even going so far as to write detailed posts about them on her website.

“Last pregnancy, I had a condition called preeclampsia, which is a serious condition you can get during pregnancy; often, the only way to get rid of it is to deliver early to protect yourself and the baby. Only about 5 percent of woman get this. Lucky me! It causes your body and face to swell, and that was very uncomfortable for me. I had early-onset preeclampsia and I had to deliver at 34 weeks, almost six weeks early,” she wrote.

“We induced my labor and I had North soon after. Right after delivery, the placenta usually then comes out. Mine did not. My placenta stayed attached inside my uterus, which is a condition called placenta accreta. This is a high-risk condition that happens when the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall.”

“My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails. How disgusting and painful!!! My mom was crying; she had never seen anything like this before. My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that — it was the most painful experience of my life! They gave me a second epidural but we were racing against time, so I just had to deal,” she continued.

“They say that this is what some women died from as a result of childbirth back in the day, without proper care. I’m so thankful that my doctor was able to catch this and address the issue immediately.”

On the show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kardashian announced her decision to have a surrogate for Chicago because she would not be able to have another baby on her own without serious risk.

“I’ve come to the conclusion in my mind that I can’t carry another one. So now I want to explore surrogacy,” she said to her mom Kris Jenner.

It seems like exploring that option has worked out in the best way for the family.

Prince Harry’s Ex-Girlfriend Just Had a Full-On Photo Shoot at Kensington Palace

Actress Jenna Coleman recently spent the day at her ex Prince Harry’s house, but it’s not what you think. The brunette beauty, who graces the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK, posed for pictures throughout Kensington Palace for the magazine’s shoot.

On Instagram, Bazaar UK notes that it’s the first time a cover shoot has ever taken place inside the storied castle. And in one snapshot, Harry’s ex looks absolutely stunning in a black ball gown while holding a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (fitting) in the palace’s courtyard.

It could be super awkward to have an ex-girlfriend roaming the halls of your home, but we’re guessing Meghan and Harry weren’t there during Jenna’s shoot, considering their busy schedules before baby.

However, the pair recently did have an uncomfortable run-in at Soho House in October. “Harry had to walk straight past Jenna to get to his and Meghan’s table,” a source told Vanity Fair

“It was pretty awkward and some of the other guests were commenting on it. Jenna looked down while Harry looked straight ahead, while Meghan didn’t seem to notice,” the insider continued. “She sat through breakfast with a smile on her face, but Harry looked a bit uncomfortable. He’d been super friendly saying hi to everyone, but he didn’t even acknowledge Jenna.”

It’s rumored that Harry began to pursue Jenna in 2015 around the same time as her now-boyfriend, Tom Hughes. But, despite his royal status, Harry wasn’t able to win her over. “She had texts and date requests coming in from both of them. She ended up going for Tom over Harry,” a friend told VF. “I guess she knew she had more in common with a fellow actor. Tom was really into Jenna and they hit it off.”

Everything happens for a reason, right?

The Controversy

Esteemed director Elia Kazan (actress Zoe Kazan’s grandfather) was honored with a lifetime achievement award at the 1999 ceremony, but many watching were reluctant to applaud his career. According to the L.A. Times, about 500 protestors gathered outside the venue that afternoon to refute the Academy’s decision.

The cause for uproar? More than 45 years prior, Kazan was asked to share his testimony with the House of Un-American Activities Committee and informed on eight of his friends from the Group Theater who, like himself, had previously claimed allegiance to the Communist Party. His actions effectually blacklisted his friends in the industry, and decades later he had yet to apologize.

Miley Cyrus Says “A Lot of Drugs” Ended Hannah Montana’s Career

After taking a lengthy hiatus from the substance, however, Cyrus recently revealed that she has returned to smoking marijuana — and her mother Tish Cyrus was responsible for the reintroduction!

“My mom got me back on it,” she said in an interview with The Sun in December. “When I’m just working, I don’t think I function at my highest, most intelligent, most being-able-to-be-as-aware-and- as-present, so I don’t smoke when I work.”

Not only did Cyrus serve as a guest judge during Thursday’s season 11 premiere of the reality show, but she also got to dress in drag, going undercover as “Barry ‘B.J.’ Johnson,” a male crew member working for Drag Race‘s production company, World of Wonder.

The costume — complete with a beard, short wig, black hat, black T-shirt and hoodie — gave Cyrus the anonymity she needed to go into the Drag Race “Werk Room,” where she interacted with the 15 queens competing for season 11.

“I’m going to go and meet the queens for the first time, but they don’t know they’re meeting me,” Cyrus explained on the show. “I wanted to go undercover with the ladies. So I’m going in as a crew member. They’re never going to know what hit ’em.”

She even did an impression of a heterosexual male, telling the camera, “I love me some f—ing beautiful women!”

Though it’s her first time in the judge’s chair, it won’t be the first time Cyrus has been on the show. She previously appeared in the audience of the season 7 finale taping back in 2015.

From there, Cyrus even pooled many of the show’s alumni — including Shangela, Alyssa Edwards, Laganja Estranja, Gia Gunn, and Courtney Act — to join her MTV VMAs’ performance of “Dooo It!”

That’s not the only tie Cyrus has to Drag Race. The actress, who wed Hemsworth in December, also identifies as a “queer person” and recently opened up about being in a “hetero relationship” while still being a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

RuPaul’s Drag Race airs Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.

“Stoked to be out with my guy @bbickell and his wife @abickell for the weekend. 29. Good times in Chicago @bickellfoundation cheers @chicagocutsteakhouse,” he wrote in the caption.

On Wednesday, Kinney commented on the photo apologizing for liking a comment left on the post shortly after he originally posted it which read, “Stoked you got away from Gaga. #Hollyweird.”

The actor shared the like was a mistake, writing, “Sorry for the “like.” It was an accident. I’m only proud and happy for Stef.”

Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, was previously engaged to Chicago Fire star Kinney and the pair was together for five years. But shortly after she landed her role in A Star Is Born in 2016, the couple split. The actor had proposed on Valentine’s Day 2015.

The singer’s fans retaliated against Kinney in the comments section of his Instagram.

One commenter wrote, “Imagine being bitter and liking shady comments after someone’s success,” while another wrote, “I had so much love and respect for you until you liked this s—. Way to trash someone you were once going to marry.”

After their breakup in July 2016, Gaga, 32, released a statement that said, “Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break.”

In her documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, the singer broke down in tears as she alluded to the fact that her growing career might have contributed to the breakup.

“I did a movie and lose Taylor,” she added. “This is the third time I’ve had my heart broken like this.”

In October, Kinney praised his ex for her rousing success with A Star Is Born— which saw much box office success in the fall and eventually led to an Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe, among other awards, for Gaga.

“I’ll tell you that I’m really proud. I don’t know. It’s watching someone live their dream, so, continued success and I hope it keeps climbing,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “The sky is the limit.”

Felicity Huffman Will Be Playing a Prosecutor in Her First On-Screen Appearance Since Her Arrest

Felicity Huffman will be playing a real-life prosecutor on TV as she faces federal fraud charges for her involvement in the college admission scandal.

The 56-year-old actress will next appear in Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us on Netflix about the Central Park Five scandal. Huffman stars as prosecutor Linda Fairstein, who led the case against the five teenagers convicted of the brutal rape of a jogger in 1989.

Fairstein has since been accused of coercing confessions out of the five teenagers, who were later exonerated in 2002. She has denied the teens were coerced and has defended authorities’ conduct in the case, according to The Guardian.

In the trailer released earlier this month, Huffman’s voice can be heard ordering police intervention in Harlem, near where the attack took place.

“Let’s get an army of blue up in Harlem,” Huffman can be heard saying as the shot lingers on the five detained teenagers. “You go into those projects and you stop every little thug you see. You bring in every kid who was in the park last night.”

The show arrives on Netflix on May 31. PEOPLE is out to the company for comment on Huffman’s appearance in the series.

Authorities have accused Huffman of conspiring to pay $15,000 to an organization that facilitated cheating on her older daughter’s SATs by having a proctor correct her answers in hopes of getting her into a better college. The actress was arrested and charged with fraud, and was released on a $250,000 bond later on Tuesday.

According to an indictment obtained by PEOPLE from the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts, Huffman has been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.

The affidavit alleges that Huffman and “her spouse” made the $15,000 donation to KWF. Although she is married to actor William H. Macy, he is not indicted in the case.

Prosecutors allege that dozens of parents — including Huffman and fellow actress Lori Loughlin — paid sums to admissions consultant William Singer and his nonprofit organization, Key Worldwide Foundation (“KWF”). Then, prosecutors allege, the KWF would bribe coaches and administrators to accept the donors’ kids into prestigious college programs.

“Huffman and her spouse made a purported charitable contribution of $15,000 to KWF to participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of her oldest daughter,” the criminal complaint affidavit reads. “Huffman later made arrangements to pursue the scheme a second time, for her younger daughter, before deciding not to do so.”
