Lana Del Rey has been one of the most celebrated musicians in the alternative and indie pop genre over the past decade, with a trademark of incorporating nostalgia of America’s past into her emotive songwriting.

Having emerged into the independent music scene around 2010, she has enjoyed considerable success, even garnering an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song for her contribution to 2013’s ‘The Great Gatsby’ remake with the song ‘Young & Beautiful’.

Del Rey also has a penchant for football, having been pictured at a handful of high profile matches in recent seasons.

Goal takes a look at Del Rey’s net worth, how much she earns, charity work and more.

She also wished the Reds the best of luck before their ultimately victorious 2019 Champions League final win against Tottenham.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Del Rey’s net worth is at an estimated £11 million ($14m).

Del Rey is a musician, songwriter and producer. She has released four full-length albums since under her current moniker, starting with her 2012 major label release ‘Born to Die’.

She scored her first major hit with single ‘Video Games’ off of her debut album and has enjoyed significant success ever since, having earned Grammy and Golden Globe nominations.

Her music falls into the indie and alternative genres, with her maudlin lyrics giving her a reputation as a ‘sadcore’ musician.

In November 2018, Del Rey was announced to be the face for Gucci’s Guilty Fragrances, alongside actor Jared Leto. The pair starred in a print-and-digital campaign, which debuted in January 2019.

She said: “Music was my passion, but my work with this foundation is more important. I myself had the chance to be [helped by an establishment].

“Helping others now feels like it’s my turn to give something back. I want to become a sort of Angelina Jolie.

“Like her, I think fame is nothing in itself, but it can be put to good use – by using it to generate money for charity for example.”

Del Rey boasts 13.1 million Instagram followers at the time of writing, posting photos of her live performances, promotional material, and day-to-day activities.

Who does comedian Trevor Noah support? Net worth & favourite football team revealed

The entertainer has been pictured with a number of high-profile football players over the years and spotted at some of the biggest matches around

Trevor Noah is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa but has become one of the most well-known comedians in the United States due to his role hosting The Daily Show on Comedy Central.

Noah, who has also worked as an actor, writer and producer, rose to prominence performing stand-up in his homeland before taking his talents overseas.

And the 35-year-old is a big fan of football having been spotted at a number of big games over the years, including a FIFA World Cup game in 2018.

Goal takes a look at Noah’s net worth, how much she earns, charity work and more.

Noah is a supporter of Liverpool  and said he was honoured to meet one of his “favourite players” Mohamed Salah at a Reds’ pre-season fixture in New Jersey in 2018.

The South African also attended the Champions League final in Kiev earlier that year, but Jurgen Klopp’s side ended up runners-up on that occasion after two costly errors from Loris Karius enable Real Madrid to take a 3-1 win.

However, Noah has also said he has an affiliation with MLS side Ney York City, telling the club’s media staff he is a fan in a video posted to Twitter in 2016.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Noah’s net worth is at an estimated £23.5 million ($30m).

Noah was born in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Noah is a comedian. He started as a soap opera actor in his late teens but began doing stand-up comedy after receiving a dare from his friends.

He became one of the biggest comedians in his own country and later performed shows in the US and UK, including a production called The Racist at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

It was announced in early 2015 that Noah would take over from Jon Stewart as host of The Daily Show,  and he made his debut appearance as its lead in September that year, having featured as a correspondent previously.

Noah launched the Trevor Noah Foundation in April 2018 with the aim of improving access to education among underprivileged children in South Africa.

Speaking about the work of the Foundation, Noah said in a video on Instagram: “We’ve started off steady and slow because I want it to be a long-lasting effort.

“We want to get teachers the support they need, because teachers are underpaid. And we want to make sure that the people who educate children actually have food and ways to sustain themselves.”

Kim Little confident Scotland's 'natural ability' will bring success at first Women's World Cup

After the debutantes suffered a 2-1 defeat to England in their opening game, the midfielder highlighted plenty of positives for their next two games

Kim Little believes there are plenty of positives for Scotland to take into the rest of their first Women’s World Cup, after their opening fixture ended in a 2-1 defeat to England.

Nikita Parris’ penalty broke the deadlock after a controversial VAR decision, before Ellen White doubled the Lionesses’ lead just before half-time.

But Shelley Kerr’s side played much better in the second half, as Claire Emslie’s goal made it a nervy finish for England, and Little is confident they can show more of their quality in their next two games.

“Obviously I’m disappointed we didn’t get any points from the game, but I think from our first to second-half performance you can see the improvement in what we’re capable of,” she said.

“We have natural ability in our team and I think it was eventually going to come through at some point.

“We flattened in midfield to create less space for England and make it easy to pick up the ball, especially for myself and Caroline [Weir]. We had a bit more belief too, but we know we have that ability.

“We play against and with a lot of the [England] players so we know what we’re capable of and the level of quality we have in comparison to them. But they have a little bit more experience than us maybe.

“We can’t do anything about it now, that’s three points gone but there’s six more we can get. So we’ll look forward and hope to do that.”

Scotland’s next clash in Group D sees them take on a Japan side with a lot less experience, with just six of their squad from the 2015 Women’s World Cup, who reached the final, involved in this summer’s tournament.

Kerr’s side then conclude the group stages with a fixture against lowly-ranked Argentina, who are back in the competition for the first time since 2007.

Asked whether the close nature of the result and goal scored would give her side positives going into those games, Little said: “Yes, I think so.

“It’s nice to get a goal and I think we deserved that. We created some good chances in the second half.

“[Emslie] scored a great goal and got in some good positions,” the midfielder continued.

“Just the quality in the final positions, getting good balls into the box, is maybe what would have made the difference.

“I think when they scored the first goal we then naturally dropped off because of the pressure of going 1-0 down, so we need to learn from that and maybe be more on the front foot if that is to happen again.”

Little also expressed her “appreciation and gratitude” at playing at her first World Cup, and her first major tournament, having missed the 2017 Euros due to injury.

The 28-year-old is widely considered one of the best players in the world and played a huge part in qualification for both tournaments, but ruptured her ACL before Scotland headed to the Netherlands.

A leg break in October added yet another down to a rollercoaster journey to this summer’s competition, but made Little even more grateful to be on the pitch on Sunday.

“It’s great to be here with my team-mates and represent my country at a World Cup,” she said, adding that her thoughts while lining up were: “Just appreciation and gratitude for being here and being able to play football on the biggest stage and taking in the occasion, to enjoy it.”

Scotland face Japan on Friday, June 14 in Rennes, before heading to Paris to take on Argentina on Wednesday, June 19.

Ake backs 'fantastic' De Jong to shine at Barcelona after dominating England

The Bournemouth defender believes his international team-mate will impress at Camp Nou when he joins later in the summer

Nathan Ake has backed his Netherlands international team-mate Frenkie de Jong to shine at Barcelona, describing him as a “fantastic player”.

Ake was talking ahead of the Nations League final where the Dutch will take on Portugal, after they defeated England 3-1 in Thursday’s semi-final.

De Jong dominated the midfield area in the clash with the Three Lions and the Bournemouth centre-back believes the 21-year-old can do the same when he joins the Liga champions next season.

“Every game [De Jong] plays he is so good on the ball, he wants the ball everywhere and he is technically so good that it is difficult to get the ball off him. He is a fantastic player,” Ake told Goal.

“Yeah, I think he’ll [do well at Barca]. 100 per cent. The way he plays, especially the way Barca plays, I think they suit each other really well.

“But he’s been doing this at Ajax as well. He’s very good.”

Errors dominated the semi-final with the Dutch punishing two mistakes, by John Stones and Ross Barkley, in extra-time to secure the win.

England had taken the lead after Matthijs de Ligt gave away a penalty by fouling Marcus Rashford, after losing possession to the striker. The Manchester United forward put away the spot-kick although De Ligt would later equalise for his country to force extra-time.

Ake said that De Ligt’s goal was testament to his mental strength and that the Netherlands had planned to unsettle England with their pressing.

“For a 19-year-old [De Ligt’s] so mentally strong and I think you could see that straight away.

“The first action after [the penalty incident], he dribbles with the ball again no problem. I think everyone was happy he scored.

“Maybe [England were tired.] I don’t know what happened. But it was also good pressure from us.

“We know how they like to play, so we tried to keep them on one side and tried to press them, so maybe that’s what put them off as well.”

Ake also praised Memphis Depay’s role as the Lyon man assisted both of the goals in the extra-time period.

“He’s been very good for us over the last years. He’s scored so many goals and against England, two assists again.

“He’s always working so hard for the team and you could see that again.”

Walker set to sign new Man City contract despite Cancelo pursuit

The England international quickly agreed terms on the new contract, despite ongoing interest in a direct rival for his starting position

Kyle Walker is set to sign a two-year contract extension with Manchester City.

Walker joined City for an initial £50 million ($63m) in the summer of 2017 and still has three years left on his current deal.

City floated the idea of a contract extension towards the end of last season and Walker was so keen to reach an agreement that talks have been concluded swiftly.

The Premier League champions’ pursuit of Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo has not dissuaded the 29-year-old from committing the final years of his career to the club.

Walker’s existing deal is due to expire in 2022, but his new terms mean he will now be tied to City until 2024, when he will be 34 years old.

Official confirmation of the extension is expected shortly, although City are yet to announce Oleksandr Zinchenko’s new contract, which was agreed some time ago.

England international Walker has been an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s side since arriving in Manchester, making 48 appearances in his debut campaign and a further 52 in his second, helping City pick up five out of the six available major domestic trophies.

City want to sign Cancelo as a replacement for Danilo, who joined alongside Walker in 2017 but has struggled to nail down a place in Guardiola’s plans across his two seasons at the club.

The Brazil international has not yet finalised his move away, but it is expected that he will find a new club this summer, paving the way for Cancelo to sign.

City, however, will want Danilo’s future clarified before tying up his replacement, although they have held numerous talks with Cancelo and Juve about a transfer that could be worth more than €50m (£45m/$56m).

Although Guardiola’s side are in advanced discussions regarding Cancelo’s arrival, their priorities in the transfer market this summer are a deep-lying midfielder, to provide support to Fernandinho, and a centre-back, to replace Vincent Kompany and potentially Nicolas Otamendi.

Atletico Madrid’s Rodri has been City’s No.1 candidate to strengthen the midfield for some time, although the Spaniard recently asked for time and space to decide his future, having previously shown the English club that he was ready to move.

Harry Maguire is the top target for the defence, although City do not want to pay the £75m ($95m) plus add-ons that Leicester are demanding. Manchester United are also keen on signing the England international.

City dropped out of the race to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax several weeks ago after deciding they did not want to work with his agent, Mino Raiola.

'I'm enjoying this moment' – Ronaldo breaks Euro qualifying goal record in Portugal win

The forward insisted the team was the most important thing despite adding to his collection of personal records

Cristiano Ronaldo is “enjoying this moment” after scoring four times to lead Portugal to a 5-1 thrashing of Lithuania in Euro 2020 qualifying on Tuesday.

Ronaldo starred for the reigning European champions in the Group B clash in Vilnius, adding another record to his collection after becoming the all-time leading goalscorer in European Championship qualifiers.

It moved the Juventus superstar ahead of Robbie Keane, who netted 23 goals in European qualifying during his international career for the Republic of Ireland.

It took his international tally to 93 goals, further strengthening his position as Europe’s all-time leading international scorer, with footballing great Ferenc Puskas nine behind.

It was also Ronaldo’s eighth international hat-trick for the reigning European champions and Nations League winners.

Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho added a late fifth to seal the win over Group B’s bottom side, who had briefly drawn level in the first half through Vytautas Andriuskevicius.

Despite his personal achievements Ronaldo insisted he was simply happy for his team after the huge win lifted second-placed Portugal onto eight points.

“I’m having a good time, but the team was doing very well too,” the 34-year-old told reporters.

“I am happy and enjoying this moment, not because I scored the goals, but because of the level we have been able to demonstrate in recent years.

“It is up to me to continue helping the national team.”

After back-to-back draws to start their campaign, Portugal have now recorded much-needed wins over Serbia and Lithuania this week.

And Ronaldo feels Portugal – in second spot and holding a game in hand – are now closing in on a place at next year’s showpiece tournament.

“The hardest thing was winning in Serbia, and it was important to continue with a triumph here,” added the forward.

“We are closer, we have two games – one at home and one away – and I think if we win one of those matches it’s enough.”

Next up for Fernando Santos’ side is a home clash with Luxembourg in Lisbon on October 11 before a trip to Kiev to take on group leaders Ukraine three days later.

'I've always wanted to be like him' – Abraham aiming to emulate idol Drogba at Chelsea

The young striker came up through the Blues academy idolising the Ivorian, and now has a chance to follow in his footsteps

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham says he is looking to emulate club legend Didier Drogba, a player he grew up idolising.

Abraham now finds himself in the position that Drogba once occupied, the starting striker at Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old came up through Chelsea’s academy and was in the Blues’ youth ranks while Drogba was busy making himself a legend at Stamford Bridge.

“I have so many stories from when I was younger watching him, growing up watching such a talented striker,” Abraham told the Mirror

“I’ve always wanted to be like him, always hungry to score goals.”

Drogba joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2004 and became the club’s highest-scoring foreign player ever, while ranking as Chelsea’s fourth-highest scorer among all players.

The Ivorian won a host of trophies with the Blues, including four Premier League titles and four FA Cups. He also memorably scored the game-tying goal and the winning penalty in the 2012 Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

Drogba confirmed his retirement only last fall, after finishing his career in North America with the Montreal Impact of MLS and then second-division Phoenix Rising FC.

“Just looking at him he had that appearance about him. And I’ve always wanted to add that to my game. So to follow in his footsteps [as the club’s main striker] is always nice,” Abraham added.

Abraham is only just beginning his senior Chelsea career, having spent the past three seasons out on loan.

He has managed to break through in recent weeks, having scored a double in each of his past two matches.

Abraham credits new Chelsea boss Frank Lampard for showing faith in him even after a difficult opening to the season that saw him miss the vital penalty in a shootout against Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup.

“He’s always believed in me. He’s believed in the youngsters and believed in me,” Abraham said of Lampard.

“A lot of players have downsides to the game but even when I was going for that little spell, he still believed in me.”

After the close of the international break, Chelsea will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to face Wolves at Molineux.

Sancho dedicates first England goals against Kosovo to late grandmother

The Borussia Dortmund winger said it was a “special day” as he opened his Three Lions account

Jadon Sancho has dedicated his first England goals to his late grandmother after starring in a 5-3 Euro 2020 qualifying win over Kosovo.

England trailed in the first minute at St Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday, but Raheem Sterling shone as they hit back to lead 5-1 at the break.

Sterling provided two assists for Borussia Dortmund winger Sancho in quick succession, the teenager becoming the first player born in 2000 or later to score for England on what was his eighth appearance for the Three Lions.

The 19-year-old is also the youngest player to score more than once in a game for England since Wayne Rooney in 2004.

“It was a good run from Raheem, he found me and I slotted it home,” Sancho told ITV.

“It means a lot to me personally and for my family it is a special day.

“I dedicate the goals to my nan, who was a big fan of me but has sadly passed away.”

Gareth Southgate’s side responded well after a Michael Keane error allowed Valon Berisha to score the first of his two goals with just 34 seconds on the clock.

“It was a crazy game. I’m delighted to score my first goal for England,” added Sancho, who made his senior debut in October 2018 against Croatia in Rijeka.

“The opener was a bad mistake from us but it was a great comeback.”

After the restart England conceded twice more, with Berisha scoring his second of the game before Vedat Muriqi’s reduced the deficit to two goals.

Sancho acknowledged there are defensive improvements needed despite a fourth Group A win out of four games.

“I think we started a bit slow [after half-time],” he added. “Next time we have to pick up on that and learn from it.”

The win means England remain firmly on course for next summer’s European Championships, with Southgate’s side three points clear at the top of Group A with a game in hand.

Their next match is against second-placed Czech Republic in Prague on Friday October 11 before heading to Sofia to take on Bulgaria three days later.

How will Mexico line up against Argentina?

With Erick Gutierrez and Rodolfo Pizarro unavailable, El Tri manager Tata Martino will have to use a different XI than he’d originally planned

Tata Martino wanted to use his strongest possible XI in Tuesday’s match against Argentina as he looks to top his native country and the team he used to coach. But injuries to Erick Gutierrez and Rodolfo Pizarro mean the Mexico manager will have to get creative – or give some players more minutes than he’d originally planned this window.

Gutierrez would’ve started as the left interior midfielder after Andres Guardado left camp for the birth of a child but broke a bone in his hand during training. Pizarro would’ve been on the wing, but he was rushed to the hospital in New Jersey before El Tri’s 3-0 win and had an appendectomy that leaves him out of action.

That means there are several choices the manager has to make – in addition to a few players like goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and forward Raul Jimenez who are locks to get time after resting up in the first contest of this FIFA window.

So who will fill in? Below are three potential starting lineups Martino may use. Check back an hour before kickoff to see the team he’s selected.

Potential XI

Ochoa is a lock to start, with the Mexico No. 1 job still very much his.

The center-back pairing likely will be Celta de Vigo defender Nestor Araujo on the left and Tigres man Carlos Salcedo on the right. The fullbacks are less certain, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Jesus Gallardo as the left back once again. The Monterrey player has more minutes than any one else in the Martino era, with left back not a position of huge depth. Miguel Layun would start on the right, making his return to the national team after missing the Gold Cup as he recovered from a cancerous tumor being removed.

Edson Alvarez, who came into the camp fresh off a number of starts in the midfield for Ajax, will likely be the deep-lying midfielder. Jonathan dos Santos should come into the team as well and play one of the interior roles, but it’s a toss-up between Carlos Rodriguez and Hector Herrera as to who will get the minutes.

Up front, Mexico has a frightening trident, with Hirving Lozano and Raul Jimenez both in good form for top European teams and ready to be in the XI. Jesus Corona repeats as a starter after getting his first minutes in the Martino era Friday.

Tweaking the midfield

It wouldn’t be a surprise, however, to see Herrera get the spot in the midfield rather than Rodriguez starting. Herrera is a level above, and he played in deeper role during the game against the United States. With Rodriguez only 22 and based in Liga MX, he could be in the picture for Nations League action. So, maybe Martino wants to see Herrera at a different spot, the two-way role he’s more comfortable in, against a top opponent like Argentina.

Fewer repeating players

This lineup sees Layun move to the left and brings Leon right back Fernando Navarro into the XI.

We also see LA Galaxy youngster Uriel Antuna get his chance in the attack, rather than another start for Jesus Corona. Herrera is the only player who would keep his place, getting Martino closer to his original plan of playing two entirely different starting lineups in this window.

With the level of competition, Martino seems more likely to rely on players he knows can get the job done against top opposition, but if he’s more interested in seeing how unproven players on the international level perform or is concerned about the load he’s putting on the Europe-based players ahead of their returns to their clubs, he may opt for this XI.

‘Tough ask for England to keep Southgate’ – FA director aware of Premier League appeal

The former Middlesbrough boss has impressed while in charge of the Three Lions and offers from the top flight may be received at some stage

England are aware that they face a “tough ask” retaining the services of Gareth Southgate, with Football Association technical director Les Reed conceding that Premier League vultures will likely circle at some stage.

The Three Lions are hoping that they will not be backed into a corner any time soon, with their current coach tied to terms through to the 2022 World Cup.

Southgate has helped to raise expectations heading towards more major tournaments, with his first at the helm delivering a semi-final berth in 2018.

England also reached the last four of the inaugural UEFA Nations League and are well on course to reach next summer’s European Championship.

With positivity returned to the ranks, Southgate’s stock has risen and a man with only one previous stint as a club boss at Middlesbrough is expected to attract interest from top-flight sides.

If that proves to be the case, then Reed admits that the lure of the Premier League will be difficult for a highly-regarded tactician to turn down.

He told Sky Sports: “It would be a tough ask depending on what he was offered.

“But I know Gareth’s mindset at the moment is that he wants to be an England manager that wins something.

“I think the attraction of being the next England manager to take us to a World Cup final is a strong pull and also I think he knows that by doing that his stock’s not going to go down.

“Obviously it’s something that we have in the back of our minds all the time but I know that Gareth’s motivation is with this team and developing this team moving forward.”

Southgate’s focus at present is locked on Euro 2020 qualification.

He has overseen a perfect run of three wins from as many games so far, with a fourth outing set to see England face Kosovo at Southampton’s St Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday.

Victory in that contest would see the Three Lions pull further clear at the top of Group A and edge ever close to another major finals.

A positive result of any kind will also see England extend a remarkable record in qualifying contests which has seen them go unbeaten through 43 games stretching back to October 2009 and a 1-0 reversal against Ukraine.
